Yelled at orc, he brought beer. Spilled drink, became potion. Built base from bones, neighbors jealous. Finished sunrise, woke up beardier, axe in fridge.

ORCS is a retro-style action platformer developed and published by Pixel vs Pixel that embraces classic arcade-era design philosophies with confidence. Built around precise movement, difficult enemy encounters, and straightforward progression, the game feels like a deliberate tribute to older generations of side-scrolling action games that valued mechanical skill above accessibility. There are no extensive tutorials guiding every mechanic and few systems designed to soften mistakes. Progress comes from learning enemy behavior, understanding stage layouts, and gradually developing mastery over movement and combat timing. The design philosophy feels heavily inspired by older platforming traditions where overcoming difficult sections becomes one of the greatest rewards the game can offer. Played nearly all of the games of "Pixel vs Pixel" and what can I say about them? They are simple. "ORCS" is the first of the releases and it is as basic at it gets: The story and premise is simple, the gameplay-mechanics are simple (jump, attack and throw), the presentation from pixel-artwork to music is simple. But simple must not mean it is bad. It just is what it is. The game is challenging, platforming and enemy placement is dense, health is scarce. The final boss really has you on edge. In short: Everything about this shows the early attempts of a dev creating something and this is definetly something good. It reminds me of early flash-games. For some cents you could really go worse.
