Outshine

I can't play this game. This is the same gripe I had with Nanotale and Epistory. I've no doubt the game is fantastic. I finished Epistory and I've played a bit of Nanotale. But, as someone who learned to type with words and sentences, I have to train myself to not hit space bar at the end of each word. I have to not hit backspace if I'm aware I've made a mistake. Also, as words come towards you, if you hit the wrong letter, it will start typing a different word, which is not always a word you want to type. If you don't know how to touch type, this is probably a great game for you. But it's just an uncomfortable experience for me. Unfortunately I didn't get far enough into this game, or into Nanotale, to be sweapt up by the story. Epistory's story was fascinating and fantastic. It took me a lot to get into it, but I'm glad I did. I just can't get into these next two.

Outshine takes the familiar act of typing and reshapes it into a fast-moving action experience where accuracy, speed, and quick judgment determine whether you survive. Developed by Fishing Cactus and published by Fishing Cactus and PID Games, it is a single-player typing action game built around the idea that every correctly entered word becomes an attack. Instead of treating typing as a secondary minigame, the entire combat system revolves around the keyboard, giving the game a distinctive identity that separates it from conventional shooters and traditional typing trainers. The adventure follows Hue, a powerful character who has been subjected to experiments by the Shards. After Hue's abilities awaken, the situation turns into a fight for freedom and retaliation against those responsible. The story provides sufficient motivation for the journey without dominating the experience. Outshine is primarily concerned with maintaining a rapid gameplay rhythm, so narrative elements serve as connective tissue between encounters rather than lengthy interruptions. Players seeking extensive characterization may find the storyline relatively light, but its straightforward nature suits the arc…

The premise of the game looks really cool, the vibe is nice, and the story is enjoyable too. Even though this game is good, it's not really for me. I'm not that good at English blind writing, so I can't fully enjoy this game, but I do see the appeal - especially the competitive side of it. To sum it up, the game is a well-deserved 7/10 for me. It would be higher if I were better at those kinds of games because it is actually really cool.

In terms of typing games this is probably the best I have ever played. A variety of modifiers and difficulty options allow you to adjust the game so it matches your typing speed and abilities, it has a fantastic art style, an energetic and motivating soundtrack that I could listen to for hours and accessibility options including a dyslexia-friendly font. If you're shopping for a typing game, this one's well worth the price and I can highly recommend both it and its soundtrack!

Very cool game if you like typing. I do. The bosses are pretty cool too with a really good short story.
