Okay, so, basically the combat mechanics just aren't fun solo, but the quest system isn't designed for co-op play. If someone is partnering up with you they get no quest progress ever, no matter what. Kindof like Dark Souls except with a larger time investment. So only get this if you want to wander around large environments and delve into caves and such without caring if you die suddenly after making one or two mistakes. It helps that dying doesn't do a whole lot unless you're in the middle of a time-sensitive quest; in most cases you just get teleported somewhere in a wounded state and you lose some time. The amount of time lost can range from a few hours to a few *days*, so that could be an issue. The reason the combat mechanics aren't fun is because enemy attack patterns don't have large gaps in them and the stun bar needs to be half empty before you can interrupt their attacks, so you're usually only getting one hit in after they make their attack strings. If you're geared for it you can stunlock enemies but in most cases you cannot. So you wind up spending most of your time in combat blocking or evading etc waiting for them to attack so you can get one hit in before…

Devs: you guys need to add an option to share the reward of quests with your partner over internet (not split-coop) since we're not playing on the same couch like on a console here on PC. - And having your partner (in my case, my wife), not receiving the rewards from the quest she completed by my side on our world, we play together, she gets nothing, feels BAD man. Otherwise, Combat feels Good, tactical, tanky, world is good, but needs more visual polysh, overall a good game with deep into it, but there's visual n' mostly co-op stuff to FIX PLEASE, i mean it, seriously. We shouldn't be asking for modders to fix this, compromising game stability and doing rocket science to test if a modder actually fixes these things, these should be in-game as vanilla features!
