If you like challenging indie games, Overkill Squad is what you are looking for! Despite being the first game from this studio, it is developed pretty well and professionally, I have not come across any bugs. The strongest aspect of the game is THE MUSIC!! It gets you hyped up in all levels. The character designs are also pretty cool.

The core idea is very simple and very focused. Each run is built around intense one minute combat arenas where you pick a fighter, jump into action immediately, and try to survive waves of enemies while upgrading your firepower. There is no long setup, no walking around doing nothing, and no unnecessary downtime. You spawn, you move, you shoot, and everything wants you dead almost instantly. The roguelike structure means you die, a lot.You unlock relics, weapons get stronger, and you slowly learn how to read enemy behavior and level flow. What I really like is that the game does not pretend to be something it is not. It knows exactly what kind of experience it wants to deliver, short, intense, and chaotic bursts of action that respect your time.

Overkill Squad is an indie roguelike action shooter developed and published by Chillfox Games that embraces the spirit of classic arcade chaos. Rather than focusing on narrative or world-building, the game centers almost entirely on high-intensity combat where reflexes, positioning, and quick decision-making determine survival. It presents players with a top-down twin-stick shooter format infused with bullet-hell mechanics, creating a gameplay style that demands constant movement and awareness. Every run places the player inside compact arenas packed with enemies, projectiles, and explosive effects, emphasizing pure action over complex storytelling. The result is a straightforward but energetic experience that feels heavily inspired by the fast-paced arcade games of earlier eras while incorporating modern roguelike progression systems. At the beginning of each run, players choose a character from a roster of fighters, each equipped with their own special abilities and unique combat style. These differences are not merely cosmetic; certain characters may emphasize melee combat, while others focus on ranged damage or mobility. This small layer of variety allows players to experiment…

I'd say it's a mix of Hotline Miami and Vampire Survivor, with very short levels and cool graphics. It has some issues like much harder boss fight than the previous levels, no time to collect loot from the last enemy you defeat on a level and slow post-level upkeep (when you choose a relic) - but it's worth it at sale.
