Okay, against some of the bad reviews I bought the game and played it on the Index... Seemed to be a brave decision reading all the feedback. But it was not as bad as I thought it might be. I even give it a good review now though it still has some "problems". First of all: Yes, the hand orientation is wrong for Index players, the usual "approx 45° misalignment" we see in some games, I am astonished THIS repeating misalignment is still a thing. It would be nice the devs would simply adjust this instead of giving a calibration feature, BUT the calibration feature is not as bad and as complicated as some think and wrote about. You do not even have to "reach" the virtual hands or put your hands into them, just stay in your position and hold your hands up into the air in the orientation shown before you and press the trigger, done. It was no problem playing the game with this calibration change. Though the calibration does not get saved, you need to do this again after a complete restart, but that was just done in like 10 seconds. Gameplay and content wise I did not expect anything and I did not read, much as usual. The game has some jump scares, but the "horror" aspect was not too st…11 found this helpful
The controllers from the Valve Index cannot be used for this game6 found this helpful
Doesn't really play well with Steam VR or virtual desktop. Only way I could get this to play was to connect directly to PC via the cable. even then, unless I loaded it up using the Oculus app, the controllers are in the wrong orientation for the hands. Well, I did manage to play was ok. but I can't be bothered to get the cable out every time. So I just haven't gone back to it.5 found this helpful
I truly want to like this game because it seems like it has a ton of potential, but I find the flashlight mechanics to be a deal-breaker. Every time I grab anything, with either hand, the flashlight flies into that hand... no matter how far away it is, or the orientation of my hand. I was too frustrated to continue playing. I will look for an update in the future before I return the game. Please fix this NoxNoctis. I'm rooting for you.5 found this helpful
The height of the player is ALWAYS wrong for me. The game does not give me an option to change that and also this is one of the extrem rare cases where OVR Advanced settings could also not fix it (The playspace in SteamVR is moving but without any changes in the game). Sadly, therefore for me unplayable even it looked really promising. Also no other VR game ever, forced me to use a "hand calibration", because the defaullt position is twisted. Thats really the first time is see that kind of problem and hand-calibration option in any VR game. Using a Quest3 with VirtualDesktop. Devs please fix that and I will come back again, but with the current problems I cannot recommend it.5 found this helpful
This game was on my wishlist as soon as it got announced - and I feel I pestered the dev quite a bit asking when the PCVR release date was haha - sorry for that. Was lucky to win a copy through the Twitter giveaway (Aya's Loft). \o/ What an amazing game! The atmosphere was amazing. The house was gorgeous and felt very Resident Evil like. Not going to lie I was a little sad I wasn't able to drive the car for a bit :P! The story was pretty good (interesting take on what's going on). The models used were creepy. The vibe itself was constantly pretty intense. Controls were a bit wonky at times (especially trying to open something with flashlight in the other hand - it wanted to juggle the flashlight). Sadly I didn't get it to work through Steamlink on the Quest, BUT it did work by using Airlink (through steamlink all the graphics were messed up. I thought it was meant to be trippy, until some viewers pointed out it was because of the Steamlink). Played on a Quest 2 + Steam.1 found this helpful
