This game is Party Golf but with racing: scoring looks and works exactly the same, the custom options offer a lot of familiar things, and they prioritize fast chaotic gameplay even when that feels wrong. Comparison doesn't do this “sequel” many favors. Where Party Golf is something casual you could bring to a party and entertain friends for an evening, this game would annoy and frustrate all but the dedicated physics racing experts. Rather than hefty racecars or nimble go-karts, here the experience is more light RC car racing or a homemade soapbox derby. My primary complaint is the default experience should have been better. Tracks are slightly too narrow and slippery, and getting used to the acceleration and handling of the cars takes a bit long for a party game where players might swap in and out. As a racing game, there are many small issues. You can miss checkpoints by driving near the edge of the road, which means you miss an entire lap. Starting at a random checkpoint of any map makes learning tracks difficult. Sometimes the chase camera goes away from the track, while the fixed sky cam has a terrible angle for any maps with crossed roads or structures in the way. …

When I picked up the "party" games I did not have high expectations I own a steam deck and am always on the lookout for more opportunities to have people over for local multiplayer. So I though this game would be a solid distraction and not much else for game nights with friends. Upon booting it up however I was surprised at the level of depth and creativity here however, there are several unlockables adding a fun sense of progression that feels well paced and the array of choices make for a great party game to bust out with friends. Most importantly this game is in no way a Mario Kart clone as many racers often fall into this niche screwing themselves as none can quite hold up to the gold standard, instead party crashers tries a unique formula by having the race turn into a frenetic game of survival as the slowest cars are culled one by one until the final racer alive wins. This offers a unique perspective on the party racing genre that my friends and I are sure to get enjoyment out of for many evenings to come.

nothin’ like drinking while driving

I whole heartedly recommend this game. It's basically a modern reworking of Micro Machines/Circuit Breakers and it accomplishes it's task with excellent, playable and fun results. Plenty of ways to play to find the itch you want to scratch, pick up and play, great visuals with low system requirements. Any laptop made in the last 10 years will probably run this. If you have friends and love to play local multiplayer, add this to your list. It's genuinely great. Would have loved to have seen more from this studio based on this and Party Golf.
