Patchlantis, once an ancient civilisation has now been fully reclaimed by nature. Fierce monsters, rugged terrain and booby-trapped ruins are all a fact of life, here. Even the island's patchwork terrain will get shuffled each night by a powerful storm! When defeated on a run, you’re sent right back to base camp. And while there’s many shortcuts to unlock and countless powerups to earn, there’s still no escaping the facts – you’ll have to get good!
This island is crawling with dangerous monsters. They might look friendly, but behind those adorable googly eyes you’ll find the soul of a vicious predator! Fortunately, you came prepared with your monster-taming Lasso. You can mount every monster in the game to claim their skills as your own. There’s more than 50 monster species and all of them have a unique set of skills!
Some of them can fly, or swim, or leap across hazardous terrain. And all of them can pack a serious punch in combat!
Patchlantis is a twisting labyrinth, filled with countless dangers that can be transformed into your strength. By collecting the monsters, plants and minerals – and by unlocking a criss-crossing network of shortcuts – you can venture ever deeper into the island’s underbelly. Perhaps you can even unravel the mystery of why Patchlantis fell… - Explore a shuffling patchwork maze where every run feels fresh and challenging.

Unfortunately Patch Quest is far too repetitive to recommend. Fun for ~5 hours, but you've seen all the game has to offer by then. Even for standard game completion, it's tedious for no reason. Fast travel only works for tiles you've visited in this run, and you will be constantly interrupted by enemies along the way. The map isn't even randomly generated, so the game is [i] intentionally [/i] wasting your time. The enemy damage scales to force a restart after about an hour, so you will be re-treading the same ground a lot. The game actively discourages 100% game completion. Each area has many unique decorations, but you can only collect one after clearing 4 tiles, forcing more mindless replaying, plus RNG makes some decorations not spawn in a run. And for some reason you can only bring back 3 pets per run, so that's minimum ~20 runs to collect them all. All while monotonously going through the same areas you've been through before just to get to where you want to (remember the lack of fast travel). Thankfully there's a "casual" difficulty to cease the enemy scaling and make the game actually completable. It also exposes how bland the gameplay is, as enemies behave nearly …2 found this helpful
