Super smooth, satisfying, crunchy gameplay. Each stage feels unique. Difficulty level is on point, and length too. Short and fun game. Just make sure to play on a controller, using the analogs.1 found this helpful
nice and pretty game, simplified control but with various gameplay as an action game. But game's too short, didn't have enough fun yet. Wish for a sequel one.
Yeah it looks great and has a great concept but thats all it really has. No engaging plot, inconsistent as HELL controls, the default button layout is horrendous and shines in its faults during the timed runs. Its easy to play but deaths feel unfair and working through some of the niche mechanics makes it more difficult to enjoy the game. The mechanics are unique and makes the game feel different between worlds, but theyre not significant enough to make a change in the gameplay, the whole game feels like padding to a story that doesn’t connect with what the player is doing. The timed challenges ask for perfection in each level you play and one mistake ruins the whole experience. Its great for precision platformers to beckon this challenge, but with the controls that beg for three separate actions to be conducted at the same time, a better control scheme needs to be determined. Mf’s trying to give me carpel tunnel the way I have to hold the drill button down the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game to feel fast. Whats the point of the time trials if you beckon for perfection, because thats the easiest way to brew frustration. Visuals great, but a padded out gameplay style that has no depth at …
This is a beautiful game with fantastic bosses and fun mechanics, I truly think this game only gets better the more you play. The main story can be rather short but I think the sweet spot is going for all of the big coin collectables, If you go for all of the time attack times this game starts to overstay its welcome a bit. I really hope this isn't the last we see of pepper grinder because I really enjoyed my time with this game.
Dont be fooled by the cute enemies and player character customization, cause this games difficulty is kinda like cuphead. So if you like difficult games where you don't mind retrying a couple of times then this is a very cool game ^_^. I also recommend getting this one a handheld like the Xbox Ally. :3 Side node: Most people reviewing the game is bad are mostly people who were not skilled enough to play the game since it is cuphead level difficulty.
A creative, varied, and immaculately polished platformer. Everything feels great and is superbly animated, and there's no filler -- love a game that respects my time. Good replayability with the optional coin challenges if you're the speedrunning or perfectionist type. Well worth it!
