Phantom 3D

As a fan of the Demon Lord/Dragon Ruins games, I wanted to play some of the developer's earlier stuff. This is a very proto version of what those games came to be. It's pretty fun but very simplistic. However, that being said, it's not to different from similar games I played way back in the day. It's fun for what it is and the level editor is pretty neat.

Inside of Phantom 3D, there is a level set nicknamed "Coffee Break" and that is a perfect descriptor of this game. It's a charming little minimalist maze game that serves as a good distraction when you're looking for a simpler gaming experience, with lots of original music to accompany it as well. You can grab the complete experience including the map packs and music for around five dollars during a good sale, and while you're see all there is to see within half an hour of playing, it's a good "fire up whenever" game if you really like mazes. Inoffensive, charming, and cheap; I recommend it.

A bare bones version of a 3D maze game. Very old school, very simple, very repetitive. Audiovisual presentation is great in it's simplicity, as per usual with games from Graverobber. There is something meditative about wandering the identical hallways looking for the key and the exit, but there really isn't much in the way of substance. For a buck or two, it'll give you an hour or so of content. A couple of runs is what I had in me. But, if the old original 3D maze games from a bygone era is REALLY up your alley, and you don't mind the repetition, then you have quite a few maps to play around with. Even DLC map packs and a level editor.

For a game that's a couple of bucks. This is not too bad. Sure, the level editor is very limited and you can complete the campaign in under a hour or less. You can easily dodge The Phantom if you just go around him when he gets close. This is like the only horror game where you can customize your surroundings. In other games, the developers just either make you have to code your own or they aren't targeting horror audiences. So, since this is the only game like that out there, It's definitely something to buy if you can't code or are looking for a time killer with just barely any replayability, which stinks but I guess no game can last forever

It's pretty good.

Played with HoloISO (SteamOS 3) If you remember, or have heard of, 3D Monster Maze in the Sinclair ZX81 days then you'll know exactly what to expect. I'm sure I had something similar on my old Amstrad CPC. One of the 12 Amsoft games given away with each machine. Sultan's Maze? Basically this is an old school 3D maze made to run on modern hardware. It's nice to have in the library for old time nostalgia.
