In a world of magic, run by idiots, there is the Lawless Sea. A place where piracy rules. Where the omnipresent Patriarchy has dominion in every country, but a growing Resistance is moving the upset the established order.
In this world a privateer named Eric will upset his girlfriend's mother, be transformed against his will, and made to join the Resistance. What will follow is a bizarre comedy of interesting circumstances and characters as chaos reigns. Will he/she embrace their new identity or oppose it? The choice is up to you!
Playing Both Sides is an RPGMaker game in the JRPG style. It features artwork lovingly crafted by an unemployed mathematician, and other much better artwork made by an actual artist. The game features mechanics and a combat system built by aforementioned mathematician, with a few nods to real life swordsmanship. What this games lacks in visuals, it makes up for in mechanics. Tactics will usually be the deciding factor in every fight.

This is a hidden gem. A very good hidden gem. The combat is atrocious and gimicky. You are allways 2 spells away from total party kill There is no autosave. ------------------------ The humor is great. The game is full of interesting characters. This game is absolute infuriating crap. I don’t regret the money I spent, that was less the 2$, that was nothing, but I deeply regret the tine I spent, time thats worth a lot more. The ONLY reason I bought this game was a line in the description, “will he/she embrace their new identity or oppose it? The choice is up to you!” No.. it is in fact, not. At all. In any way. In reality its a retarded ass rail road. MC grows up knowing witches are evil, and finding out his girl friend is infact a witch does he report her? No! He murdered the rightful authority figure looking for her and then joins up with the evil ♥♥♥♥ for some happy lovey time. He literally watches as she commits seriously evil acts, And it totally cool with it, no biggie! Choice?!? naaa who needs choice! Lets rail road the MC into being an evil ♥♥♥♥ too! Forget what we said about opposing it! Then as a surprise to no one she wrongfully accuses you of rape, and her evil ♥♥♥♥ of a mother turns you into a girl and mind controls you to go along with it. I turned it off at that point. I can only stand so much. I'm done. This is pure absolute garbage, and to the maker, just a pro-tip, may not wana lie in your descriptions…
Great Gem for sure. I am very pleased. It's easy to ascertain a lot of work and humor went into this game. Well done!
