Plungeroo

I love pinballs, and this isn’t actually one, but rather a puzzle, so at first I wasn’t particularly interested. However, now that I’ve given it a go, I’ve been won over by its aesthetics and polished presentation, as well as its range of clever designed levels that are very satisfying to complete. Although the difficulty does increase, you can request hints, so it’s hard to get stuck. I recommend it. Great minimalist puzzle game. Most of the puzzles are fun and intuitive but there's a few for me that I didn't enjoy untangling. Thankfully the hint system is very helpful to give just as much of a push as needed. The music is nice and the QoL of a dark mode and options are a high quality usually not seen at this price point.

What a wonderful little game! Best described as a pinball puzzle, Plungeroo presents the players with about hundred puzzles as pinball tables - you need to configure your bumpers and whatnot so that the ball can find its way to the hole. The puzzles start out good and end up fiendishly difficult, which is good - however, the reason I really love Plungeroo is the tactile entertainment it provides. You can click every element, and everything reacts like a real pinball item - and when you launch the ball to solve the puzzle, there's an insane amount of chiming and clattering sounds, as if your pinball table suddenly went overdrive. My only problem with the game is that the ball moves too quickly and there's no way to watch the solution in slo-mo - it's sometimes very difficult to follow what's going on. Additionally, it would be glorious to watch a complex solution in slow motion as well :) In summary, there's no reason why not give Plungeroo a try - it's a hard but very fun puzzle game with some great pinball nostalgia.

To start, Plungeroo is a great idea and it initially grabs you by the balls ;) It's fun and the mechanics at first are quite easy to work with. The sound design and visuals are fantastic too. However, these are the only positives IMO. As you get further into the game, you get dealt more advanced mechanics. This doesn't sound like a bad thing until you hit the wall and go from trying to solve the puzzle to just randomly trying everything trial and error wise. At the time of writing this review, I am on level 6-9 *Nice!* and themain issue I am having is trying to work out how the arrow bumpers and the turning angle bumbers work together. MY biggest issue with these is that everything plays through SO DAMN QUICKLY that you can't see and figure out how things should be put. I think if there was a slow motion play function where it gives you time to actually see how the pieces interact with each other, then a lot of people could SOLVE the puzzles and not just attempt them trial and error wise as I ha…

It’s definitely not a bad game. The problem is that tracing the pinball path from start to end isn’t interesting at all. Even though each chapter introduces slight variations, the overall gameplay remains the same. In my opinion, a puzzler should feel rewarding when you solve each stage. In this game, that sense of reward should come from completing the path and watching the pinballs bounce through it. Unfortunately, the process of solving the pieces feels underwhelming.
