About Power Stealers
Power Stealers bring us back to the ’90s and the arcade culture, where games were simple and short, they just toss the player straight to the action. Back in the day games were very challenging, but we understand that times changes and that we live in a different context and that’s why our game will be a challenge for the experienced and friendly to the uninitiated.
Power Stealers tells us a story about Narad and Osfrid two colleagues that branched their way apart due to incompatible ideals. The conflict begins when Osfrid gets in touch with an alien intelligence whom he became an ally in order to make an army, a key piece to go forward with this plan is within Narad’s lab.
You take the role of Lars and Hana, Narad’s apprentices who are members of a project that tries to create an interplanetary defense, they were selected by their extraordinary capabilities.
Armed with the last of technology and with the aid of Shen-bot which is an artificial life form, they go to the battle against Osfrid’s minions.
Lars: Cadet of the Safety and Order forces of the planetary union, he likes to practice sports in his spare time.
Hana: Belong to the same company as Lars. She meet Narad because of her interest in science and technology, she helped to create the Shen-bot
Shen-bot: Small robots with advanced artificial intelligence, conceived as personal assistants and guards. Despite their size, they’ve proven useful.
Osfrid: Almost his entire life happens inside a lab, but this changed with his decision to research an ancient and almost unknown civilization, his discoveries took him to lose his mind. Focusing his efforts on the development of an army of mystical creatures and super soldiers.
Narad: He believes in science as a vehicle for mankind wellness, but he understands that the world is complex and almost nothing is entirely good nor bad. He has regret some things he did because of his research. Now leads an elite group tasked to handle threatens that the common order force can’t.
Charankanwal: Artificial super-soldier created by Osfrid combining Lars and Hana genes and even his own as well as the soul of a mystical creature that resembles a turtle.

Story

To be frank, it's quite terrible. The person who made this clearly doesn't understand too much about pixel art and just threw some sprites together without any consistance between resolutions and added Arial as a font for that extra spice. This could be saved with a bit of work and looking up tutorials on how to make pixel games look good on unity since the sprites itself aren't the problem. The controls are bad because of the lack of D-Pad support, the level design is uninspired and just throws a bunch of random enemies in your way without any thought or system behind it, sound effects are terrible, you can die because of colission issues and after just one level I fell through the map and had to restart the whole game. Naaah. Go play Super Cyborg, or better yet, Blazing Chrome or an actual Contra game instead of this.8 found this helpful
The person obviously looked at Metal Slug and Contra and thought "yeah im gonna make my own take of this, with blackjack and hookers" and ended up making a colossal mess at the end of the day. The fact it's expected to beat the entire game without continuing more than three times makes it even more obvious how out of touch the developer is.2 found this helpful
For the price you get what you pay for. For $4 we could get a couple hours of entertainment out of it. But there is no menu or options. It only took us about 30min to get through the whole game the first time.2 found this helpful
Power Stealers es una entrega que vale la pena si tienes menos de cinco dólares que te sobren y si realmente no tienes nada que jugar en este momento. Diría que lo apoyen por el simple hecho de ser mexicano, y claro, al final nosotros también lo somos, sin embargo, es lamentable que la industria del desarrollo en México inicie con el pie izquierdo como lo hizo este juego, habiendo otros títulos interesantes en el mercado como Mulaka, que no solo es más ambicioso, sino que también nos brinda un poco de cultura mexicana a través de su argumento. Graphics are a 5/5, game is short and sweet. Overall a good package for two players to play through. Weapons were fun, main issue was some of the jump controls but I would say 7/10 for the price.
