i love princess maker but this version breaks all the time, i just spent so long getting her elegance up just for the game to freeze up and not let me do anything, my computer is fine everything else is working fine but i cannot click anything or do anything in the game and this is probably the 10th time this has happened

If you haven't played Princess Maker before, this is an interesting numbers management game in which you make decisions on what to do each month to raise your daughter. She has a variety of stats, and depending on how you raise her, she will get various outcomes when she grows up. The goal is to get her to become a princess, or you can go for one of the other many, many endings! Throughout the game you will instruct her to work part-time jobs, study in various schools, make friends, and go on vacations. If you have played Princess Maker: Unlike the other games, there is no errantry and battle system, but the scheduling system is a little more complex, and there are lots of cute animations. Because it's a little more simple, this can be a good introduction to the series. But if you want more complicated, you might want to start with 2 or 5 and try this one out later. Either way, for resource/number management fans of other games like Tokimeki Memorial or Monster Rancher, this game is well worth a play.

I keep returning to this game the art is good, it's pretty challenging at points. It's just overall interesting I mean you can marry her like any good original Japanese daughter-raising simulator lol.

Somehow the games freezes A LOT when navigating the menus during an executed schedule, which... happens all the time.

This is a game that unfortunately I feel has essentially nothing to offer that Princess Maker 2 doesn't do better. There is no adventure mechanic, which wasn't amazing admittedly but did break things up. The addition of special moods that change what stats you gain from activities was more obnoxious than interesting. It is infuriating to get high enough stats to win the early festivals, unless you do an insane amount of retries for good rng, and there's no other great way to get money in the game. The morality stat is worthless. The worst thing the princess will do with low morality is become a hostess if she's worked at the bar enough, but it's not a sleazy or lewd bar. That's literally it as far as low morality goes, unlike in previous games where she could become a mistress, get caught up in a relationship with a playboy, actually rob people, and more. Lastly and probably worst, the endings are essentially an enormous nothing burger. They don't have any impact or weight behind them; PM2's endings weren't exactly high literature by any stretch of the word but it at least felt like it mattered some. The dark endings felt dark. The hero ending felt heroic. Not so with this game. …
