About Project Abyss
Utilise your equipment in a stylish blend of combat and beautiful aquatic moments, with a great original soundtrack and ambient sounds; we have created a living, breathing underwater world in pixel art graphics, with it's own day/night cycle. Much of the world is destructible, from blowing up wreckage doors with C4, to drilling and torpedoing your way through rock for fuel cells and chests.

- Survive an often brutal world of bosses, turrets, and poisonous plants, filled with lots of sea life to find- including Sharks, Orcas, Whales, Jellyfish, and lots of fish!
- Control your submarine with the turbines; as well as claws, weaponry, and drills! #Updated to include simpler submarine controls as an option.
- The ability to explore outside your submarine, calling drones, repairing your sub and swimming through abandoned wreckages from pirate ships to a massive world war submarine.
- Lots of equipment and upgrades to purchase along 3 tech-trees... Survival, Attack and Defence.
- Pick up notes to build the story of one diver's destiny that will take you across huge areas; defeating bosses and unlocking the secret of the abyss.
There is a lot to see and do, with many hours of open gameplay!

Project Abyss is praised for its atmospheric exploration, detailed environments, and relaxing gameplay once players adjust to the controls. However, players frequently encounter technical issues and bugs that detract from the experience, with controller support being particularly problematic for aiming and combat.
Project Abyss is a submarine exploration game with light combat and RPG elements. Dive into the depths to discover loot, use the income from loot to buy upgrades. Once I got past what felt like a battle with the controls this game is actually a pretty fun and chill game. I loved exploring the environments, every landmark was detailed, unique and interesting. Big if however, the amount of problems I ran in were verging on ridiculous for such a short game, and I couldn’t find solutions on the Steam forum or search engines. I have documented some of the issues and workarounds I found in this review. I highly recommend not bothering with using a controller - the aiming is awful and the creatures move so fast it quite simply is unable to be used accurately. I also recommend switching to ‘easier controls’ in the settings even though the developer recommends using the original - doing so took away a massive amount of confusion and frustration. The game bugged out because I left my controller plugged in while using KB+M. Typically it became unresponsive to input when I changed between maps and randomly got stuck on nothing but I also found my submarine not ‘flipping’ direction (prevent…18 found this helpful

Outdated clunky and broken. Really did not age well. Don't waste a second thought on this one.2 found this helpful
A fun game worth your time. The 2D graphics are well-done and its clear that they put a lot of effort in making an immersive environment despite the graphic style. You can choose to play by achieving the various missions, or you can just explore the endless ocean. Either way the game is fun and looks good.1 found this helpful
