A short analog found-footage horror adventure that blends walking simulator, interactive fiction, and experimental body horror into an interactive VHS tape. Reminiscent of Cave Crawler, is set around a mysterious inverted pyramid buried beneath the earth, it follows several interconnected protagonists (a team of scientists, an ambitious journalist, and an unfortunate camper) each uncovering a different piece of the same disturbing mystery. The fragmented narrative, delivered through exploration, documents and multiple perspectives, remains deliberately open to interpretation, though its disjointed structure and uneven writing often undermine the intrigue. Visually, the game fully embraces the analog horror aesthetic, pairing degraded VHS artifacts with retro PS1/3DO-era visuals and fuzzy found-footage presentation. The result recalls surreal late-night television horror, creating an unsettling, cold atmosphere that never feels like a mere gimmick. Body horror is used effectively, and the premise of the curse itself is genuinely disturbing, although the familiar "ancient evil beneath the ground" setup brings little originality to the genre. Masterfully executed piece of interactive horror! It is really short but for the price it's good. The format in which it is presented works very well, so the narrative feels well paced, major plot points do come to an end in some way but still leaves a lot for speculation and theorizing. It is very disturbing and unnerving, but don't go into it expecting classic screamer horrror, this is better than that. It's one of those games that leaves you feeling a certain way and makes you uncomfortable (in the way a good horror game should) but it doesn't rely on being too grotesque or over-the-top. Happy to have played this and it goes straight to my CURSED GAMES list lol.1 found this helpful
Outstanding. This is why I play indie horror games - For memorable and absolutely unhinged experiences like this. Way, way, way above average story for an Indie game. it all comes together perfectly in a memorable and horrifying experience. If you are looking for something a bit different. This is what you're after 10/10
Definitely one of Spoocle's more unnerving titles—short but sweet body horror that tells you everything you need to know through environmental storytelling, but still reasonably open ended. Really just wish it were longer!
Look, the game seems intriguing, that's why I purchased it. The actual game is not bad, but not interesting enough for me to clear it in one go, so I needed to take a break. You know what the problem is? There is NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SAVE function, so I have to play it again, cool, except now the segments that I already played became boring and I cannot drag myself to go through it all over again. Wake me up once you implemented it.
