A fun little free game that definitely was made using old school make your own game engine code. While it's definitely someone's final thesis in a game making class, you can tell there's real dedication put into it, from dynamically mixing music getting more frantic each lap, to little visual touches that give it a rather uniqe style. Gameplay wise, the controls are tight, although not all inputs are supported on certain models of controllers, and you may need to rebind the defaults. Steering feels like you are controlling a hovercraft with actual weight an inertia to fight, with the airbrake drifts giving that extra edge. The difficulty curve is rather steep and keeps you on your toes as the first lap will prove breezy but each one requires tighter maneuvering and quicker reactions. The pool of roguelite elements is limited but does provide just enough variety to keep things interesting. Overall It's definitely a pick up and play, but difficult to master experience, with a limited scope. But hey, it's 100% free so no reason to pass it up. Give it a try!
#tinygamereviews

Radial Overdrive didn't have to be unique to just do something better. Winsome in both its simplicity and heart of its developer that makes it aesthetically-engaging in a way that pulls you in and keeps you trying over and over. You'd better be fast.

Overall Score: 2/5

🤓Curator: Brickroad Amusements
It's alright, but it takes 1 lap or 2 to get used to the controls (I didn't even find any info on the keybinds were). But once you figure out how to control the vehicle, it's not that bad. The premise is that each lap your hovering car goes faster (at least it seemed like it), and each lap you can choose 1 of 3 upgrades (like a rogue-like). And the goal is simply to try to beat your previous scores without breaking the vehicle. There doesn't seem to be much more to it. But it can be fun for some minutes, I guess. There is only 1 track, but it has branching paths you can pick. But at least that means you can optimise your strats to get a better score on it.

Игру конечно надо доделать и добавлять новый контент, но на один (пару) вечер(ов) можно сыграть) The game certainly needs to be finished and new content added, but it's playable for one (or a couple) evenings.
