Did I like it? Yes Was it worth trying at least once? Yes - Campaign has 40 puzzles, each is a unique puzzle that you need to solve - You have to plan out the tracks and bridges so your train can pick up all cargo, and reach the exit - Red train can only pick up red cargo, and blue trains <-> blue cargo - Quality of life upgrades from Railway Islands 1 (RI1) - you can now manually set the track switches to plan out the paths - There is a Custom map maker, so you can create and upload your own puzzles, or download community puzzles made by other players Final comments : Fun little relaxing puzzle game. Really enjoyed it. Played it to relax while listening to an educational podcast. Will definitely play any sequels or similar games.

this starts out slightly difficult then becomes a hard puzzle game. ( i liked this ) it has land with different heights , ramps , and bridges . ( very nice ) it automatically saves your progress ( if you exit before finishing ) ( if you fail then it reloads your latest modifications ) different art on groups of maps... need more sound effects and fireworks when you win or lose.

I think I liked RI 1 slightly better, but it was very complete and left little room for a sequel. So slightly mixing up the puzzle mechanics led to an interesting RI 2. Differences: Trains: - There are levels with 2 or 3 trains. - Stations need to be passed by a specific train. Switches: - Trains can run through switches in the reverse direction regardless of the switch position - There are no more switches with "counters" - There are new remote controlled switches where the trigger is located on another track piece. - You can always set the initial switch position This had some interesting consequences. In RI 1 the levels felt more static. The "puzzle" was only "arranging the tracks". You had only one train to keep track of and could plan out everything. In RI 2 with it's multiple trains, the puzzle almost had 2 "phases". First, you need to find a track arrangement, but then you also need to deal with the switch configuration and make sure that trains don't collide and figure out a good setup for the remote switches. I'd still recommend it if you liked RI 1. The one gripe is that there are now 10 levels less and a few of the latter levels (I think 31-33) are from the firs…

Railway Islands 2 is a relaxing yet challenging puzzle game where you take on the role of adjusting railways to guide trains through 40 unique levels. Your goal is to collect passengers or items and safely reach the destination. The game introduces engaging mechanics such as switch tracks, crossings, bridges, and connector rails that dynamically change paths. With beautiful visuals, a soothing soundtrack, and community map creation, it offers a satisfying experience for puzzle enthusiasts. While the difficulty curve between the first two levels could use some fine-tuning, Railway Islands 2 delivers a fun and rewarding adventure for fans of logic-based games.

Fun enough, kind of a standard puzzle game. They start out pretty easy, but get kind of tricky before the end of the first page of 15. Game play is basic, a map with a starting place or two, ending place or two, and a mix of things or people you need to pick up. Blue trains for passengers, red for freight I think. The map has a bunch of hexes with track on them, and you need to arrange them, set the switches and start them off hoping they get everything to the right place. If you get something wrong, all the pieces stay in place, which is nice when all you need to do is change a switch or something. Nothing exciting or special, but so far it all seems to work just fine. One thumb up.
