Rainbow Hero

Rainbow Hero is a fairly easy puzzle game with several novel mechanics. I breezed through the game in around 2.5 hours, but I still had a moment of "wait, what, this is possible?" several times. By far the best parts were the levels where multiple characters had to be controlled. This happens both separately (control one at a time) and simultaneously (pressing up makes both move up) and the latter were the best puzzles in the game. Even outside of that mechanic, the arrow platforms were unique in that they can be pushed and pulled from anywhere in the level- a few of the toughest puzzles revolve only around these, including one very early on in the first 15 levels. The worst I can say about Rainbow Hero for the price is, well, three things. The first is that it crashed in windowed mode twice, both on trying to enter around the 27th level. I had no issues in fullscreen, but prefer playing in windowed so this was a minor annoyance. The second is the slow pace of movement. This is a common problem, the movement speed in puzzle games being lower than I'd like, but I've played with worse and the levels are short enough that it never really bothered me. I'm definitely recommending the game "Rainbow Hero." It's an excellent little puzzle game that involves using a character or two to activate/push certain objects to open a path in each of 100 levels. It took me 15.5 hours of really nice gameplay to do so with 100% Achievements (the Achievements basically say you've done all the levels). I've got to say that some of the levels are downright diabolical (I wonder how the developer came up with them). I do have a few minor issues, though: - Some of the levels have a wind noise in the background. Unfortunately, that noise cuts in and out. It's a bit irritating. - Some of the levels have some kind of distortion sphere "dripping" down the screen (perhaps like rain on a window). I found that to be distracting. - A few of the levels are timed. My personal preference is to NOT have any timed levels. But, that's my problem. - And finally, the ending could use another scene where the people say "Yay!" or something. As it is, the ending is a bit blase. But, again, all of those issues are trivial. The game is definitely worth the $2 list price. A similar game that I also recommend is "Parcel," here on Steam.

really nice puzzles

Just finished this little nice game. + Puzzles are absolutely great, and graphics style is so. - Music is somewhat generic. Changing screen resolution is awkward, and mouse support isn't quite good. But aforementioned minuses are negligible. Rainbow Hero is not a second Talos Principle, but it is pretty lovely game, and I'd recommend it to every puzzle fan on the Earth.
