I tried playing this game for little over an hour and came to a realization that I suck at it. Even the achievements seem rather off-putting and insanely hard for a noob like me. As someone who's not experienced with Tetris or games of this genre I can't really compare it to anything. The game got some negative reviews and understandably so but you need to lower your expectations since for less than a euro (on sale) you can't expect a masterpiece. At least, it has a few gamemode you can choose from, by that I mean, some effort has been put into this game.20 found this helpful
If I cannot beat a game on Easy without consulting external documentation, it is straight up terrible. Let's spawn an increasing number of color extension blocks and nothing to break them for quite a while. More importantly, it is the programmers role think so that the player does not have to. This game does the opposite and it is all work for no payoff. How about displaying some outline some places where to put the blocks so that I do not have to do a full-fledged zoning work for them every two seconds. It is not the 1980s anymore. Oh and to double down on the insanity, let us make the game speed up so that you have no time to plan anything. In a puzzle game. Using coin-up player-killing mechanics decades decades after the coin-ops went out of business is not going to win you any favors. If you are going to make a game that imitates antiquated mechanics or games, your game must be superior or there is no point in playing it because you can more often than not get the OG for cheaper if not for free.1 found this helpful
Raining Blobs, developed by Endi Milojkoski and published by Plug In Digital, is a colorful arcade puzzle game that builds upon the classic falling-piece formula while introducing mechanics that give it its own identity. At first glance, it resembles familiar titles in the falling-block genre, but it quickly distinguishes itself through a chaining system that emphasizes planning and timing as much as reflexes. The central objective revolves around arranging falling colored blobs into groups and strategically linking them to special star-marked pieces to trigger clears. This added layer transforms what might otherwise be a straightforward matching game into a more deliberate and tactical experience. The core gameplay is fast and fluid, requiring players to think ahead while reacting to the constant stream of descending pieces. Unlike traditional match-three systems where simple adjacency is enough, Raining Blobs demands careful setup. Players must construct chains of matching colors and then connect them to a star blob to eliminate the entire group. This two-step clearing process encourages foresight, as poorly positioned chains can clutter the board and limit options. Successful c…1 found this helpful
