[h2] Absolute utter disappointment [/h2] As the name Rally Arcade Classics suggests, we will be playing a racing game, which will try to look like old-school rally arcades. Visual part is OK, game is running on Unity, what isn't a bad thing a I think that retro-rally vibe is well captured - plus point for being able to play in 480p, like in good old times. HOWEVER, I've encountered a lot of visual bugs or simple elements that have been done slapdash. Skybox is bad, in Greece races there are png-mountains in the background, which look very weak. With Ultra drawing distance, you will often see how very distant part of the track is slowly rendering, instead of being preloaded from the start, what looks kinda uncanny. Game has no brightness setting at all, what is a problem, since night races are dark as the inside of a cow and if you are sitting in a sunlit room, then you are probably not gonna see a lot of things. The light from car's headlamps is poorly coded - like if you are close to another object or car, light gets super shiny and object loses the texture and becomes white with yellowish accent, until headlamps are put in the different direction. Not recommended. The tracks are very short , with little interest . Also, the cars drive in an unatural way, most notably on the decelaration aspect.1 found this helpful
Awesome game with plenty of content ideal for had held gaming devices I would however like to see some more locations added even if it was a paid DLC
I like the game and the style of it. Runs great on SteamDeck However, the Leaderboard is bugged and cannot be trusted.
This game is awesome. Have a fantastic driving feel and the graphics are good for an indie game and the price totally worth it. I recommend this game 1000%. Buy it you will not regret it
[h2]Despite A Lot of Flaws, There Is Something Here. 6/10[/h2] [hr][/hr] Honestly, Rally Arcade Classic is hard to recommend simply because a lot of it is half-baked. However, I and many others find ourselves coming back to this because despite it all, the driving is solid. The steering, the heaviness of the car, the sliding and skidding, even the sense of speed, it all checks out. Granted, the campaigns and mini-games are basic but it is still serviceable. And because of the somewhat Sim-like steering and driving the difficulty is rather high on hard mode. But if you don't mind that, and you want Dirt Rally for newbies (effectively), this is probably the closest you can get. Hard to recommend but recommend nonetheless. 6/10 [h2]What's Good[/h2] - Driving feel and sense of speed is on-point, near sim-like - A variety of mini-games and campaign which includes Time Attack, Versus mode, Drifting, License Challenge, and long campaigns. [h2]What's Bad[/h2] - Campaign and mini-games are basic. - Difficulty is rather high to it's sim-like driving.
