About Razenroth
Fight through procedurally generated nightmare worlds filled with hundreds of creatures and deadly bosses as journalist Charles Carter, uncovering the mystery of his grandfather's disappearance. Each playthrough is completely unique with randomized levels, weather, loot, and events, letting you customize your character through deep progression systems and discover over 200 powerful items, spells, and equipment.
The main character of the game – Charles Carter – is a young journalist who tries to solve mysterious disappearance of his grandfather, Joseph Carter. One and only way to do that, is to enter the world of nightmares, inhabited by horrifying creatures.
Main features of the game:
- Over 200 objects to find - magic potions, spells, books, elements of clothing, talismans, rings, amulets and other. Some of them are extremely powerful, thus, more difficult to obtain.
- Levels are generated randomly. Each of those is characterised by different construction, random weather conditions and unique colouring. As the game progresses, the main scenery is also changing (e.g. dark forest, rainy marshland, graveyard, caves, etc.)
- Several dozen creatures to fight with. There are regular creatures and these which can be encountered rather rarely. The more rare the creature, the better chance to obtain valuable objects after it is beaten.
- Unique bosses - each level has random bosses to kill.
- Special random events - sometimes a player may find an object or meet a creature which will begin some new task. When it is fulfilled, a player gets valuable objects.
- Several dozen interactive elements. Among those there are different shrines, chests, and some rare graves, altars, etc.
- The main character's house with a possibility of developing it - inside, a player can buy keys and magic potions, heal himself and do other things.
- Unlockable characters. By playing more you'll get a chance to unlock additional playable characters with different statistics and skills.
- Character leveling system. By killing monsters you get experience points which allow your character to level up. You can improve some of the basic stats like hp, mana, critical damage, etc. Additionally there are also over a dozen of powerful skills to improve, that let you customize your character as you want.

Razenroth, developed and published by Enitvare, is a top-down action roguelike that blends arcade-style shooting with RPG progression and procedurally generated exploration. Built around replayability and character growth, the game places players in a dark, monster-infested world where survival depends on quick reflexes, smart resource management, and adaptability. While its presentation is modest, Razenroth distinguishes itself through its variety of items, dynamic environments, and layered progression systems that encourage repeated runs. The premise follows Charles Carter, a journalist investigating the disappearance of his grandfather. This narrative framework provides context for the descent into cursed forests, haunted graveyards, marshlands, and underground caverns filled with hostile creatures. The story remains light and largely serves as a backdrop for the gameplay rather than a driving narrative force. Instead of cinematic storytelling, the focus remains on exploration and combat, with bits of environmental flavor supporting the dark tone of the world. One of the game’s defining features is its procedural generation. Each playthrough rearranges level layouts, enemy pla…1 found this helpful
A nice surprise, the game is a lot of fun and it's short. There's some replay value if you want to beat it on a higher difficulty. 8/10
Score: 2/5 The Good 1. Audio/music/SFX 2. Movement is smooth, and controls are responsive. 3. Environmental/weather effects are mostly good, with some of the environment being unclear that it is impassible terrain or being intuitive that it is blocking the player's vision. 4. Balanced difficulty. The Bad 1. Gameplay got boring and repetitive in less than an hour, and there is almost no narrative/dialogue/story. 2. Not enough variation in enemy designs, move-sets/attacks, and strategies. 3. Most mechanics are not explained effectively, which fits/reinforces the narrative somewhat but was overall a negative. 4. Subpar writing. No explanation for why the main character has magical abilities. Introduction feels forced/lazy. 5. Visuals/art direction isn't great.
