Very tedious idler, lacks lots of mid to late game content/mechanics, the lore is ok. After 4700+ hours still couldn't complete 100% of the game.

This one is something of a mixed bag for me. To be clear, this is NOT an idle game. It's more like a very casual RPG with auto-battle elements, so don't expect to be able to set it and forget it for too long like a proper idle game. Now, with that out of the way, the best parts about the game are the overarching story (it's nothing super surprising but it's fun) and the little NPC reactions/interactions that you have. Most everyone in town is friendly to one degree or another, and most everyone is also supportive of you (as you're their chief defense against the things that come up out of the caves to eat their faces). It's got a cute aesthetic, and it's fairly charming. Not saying that you're going to form super strong Stardew Valley connections with these folks, but they're good enough to spend time with. There's not a ton to be said about the gameplay. As mentioned initially, it's an auto-battler when you descend into the caves. Katie moves forward and kills monsters until she takes too much damage and dies. There's a reasonable set of auto-conditions to use (you can set to leave on a certain floor, stay in the dungeon and loop to keep grinding, auto-use potions for healing and …

Reborn: An Idle Roguelike RPG is an ambitious independent title that combines idle mechanics, roguelike progression, and fantasy storytelling into a surprisingly cohesive package. Developed and published by Blake Farnsworth, the game centers on Katie, an immortal guardian whose existence is tied to the protection of a remote village threatened by the dangers lurking within a nearby cave. While the concept of automated combat is hardly new, Reborn distinguishes itself by wrapping its incremental systems in a world that feels lived in and worth exploring. It is a game that values persistence over intensity, encouraging players to invest in gradual progress rather than moment-to-moment action. At its heart, the experience revolves around an endless cycle of exploration, combat, and advancement. Katie automatically battles enemies while players oversee the broader strategy behind her growth. New equipment can be crafted from gathered resources, potions provide valuable boosts, and every successful expedition contributes to long-term development. The roguelike elements shine through repeated runs and permanent improvements, creating a satisfying sense of momentum. Even when setbacks oc…

An absolute gem in the idle game genre. I adore the story, the characters and especially seeing the village grow and change over time. I didn't except actually seeing the npcs do different things and hang out with different people based on what happened to them throughout the game, because even normal rpgs often lack this kind of immersion. There are a bunch of different progression paths and rich automation for tedious tasks later on, which is always a big plus. I can't say very many bad things about the game, because it kind of does everything right, even if not perfectly. There are only two major things. One, potions are severely overshadowed by everything else in the late game. You get so much stats from awakening, which is the 2nd (or 3rd) prestige layer, that stat potions which do not scale with it, simple become useless. This is only a problem, because potions are a late game thing, the big potions being unlocked at the very end of the current story. On the same note, as farming is only used for making said potions, it becomes a completely useless mechanic, other than the story assosiated with it. The second thing is not really a problem with the game, but more so about t…
