Nostalgia alone isn't enough
I bought this game way back in the early access days to support the developers because i really enjoyed Relic Hunter Zero, and was excited to be in the world with my favourite characters once again. But having 16 hours after so many years kind of proves that it wasn't enough to engage with me, despite trying a few more times this year. Being named Relic hunter, i was expecting to equip myself with tonnes of relics to power up my gameplay as i go through the world, but being close to 20 hours in game, i have not yet attained my first relic. The grind is real, and it seems so tedious that i don't know if i'll ever get it done before the game is unlisted, and it sure seems a high likelyhood due to the inactivity of developers and players. Almost all guides are from the early access days, and not much has changed in the few years since. Nothing to claw back players. other than cosmetics? it's odd. I wanted to like this game, and is one of the few games i bought on early access because of a belief that it could be done well by the developers. I'm sadly let down. The genre change from rougelite to looter shooter is a mind boggling one. they co…

It's like Borderlands if it was a top-down shooter instead of an FPS. Very fun and definitely worth playing.

It is a top-down class-based looter shooter, basically 2D Borderlands with bits of an ARPG chimeraed in. My understanding is, game REALLY suffered from a weak start. A lot of top reviews complain about the issues that are since solved. There are some pacing and balancing problems that would have been ironed out, if the game just held on water for a little longer. What it does well: - Upgrade / resource management is MMORPG-style, with some rather forgiving features. You get a lot of value from enhancing your weapon to +10 or whatever, and you can move the enhancement to a different weapon of the same tier pretty much for free. Got a low-tier weapon with a perfect crit damage roll? You can upgrade its tier and rarity. Got unwanted extra affixes from rarity? You can reroll them (although hunting for "perfect" stats in this way does get expensive quick, so drops matter, which is also a good thing) - Affix machinery is ARPG-style. Not too basic, but nothing really complicated either. Looks good to me - Better time travel plot bits than Last Epoch (because this game actually ties loose ends) - Second difficulty combat starts getting intense. It's less of a run and gun situation, you …

Feels like playing a cartoon network game. It's perfect. Voice acting was a really nice and fun surprise! I really liked it! I'll definitely play more at some point, but I'm not dying to get every moment out of this game or anything.

I don't like isometric perspective looter shooter RPGs in general, but I gave a chance for Relic Hunters Legend end I've genuinely enjoyed. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the gunplay in this game is simple, but so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun! The movement and shooting feels smooth. There are six characters to choose from, each with their own set of skills and builds. As you progress, you earn points to unlock new skills and attributes. But, in my opinion, the attribute increases are quite modest and the skill tree feels a bit underwhelming; I don't feel as powerful as in other games, you know? Some chests are locked behind some characters' abilities, and having to stop the stage's mission to search for resource nodes or chests feels counter-intuitive and, unfortunately annoying. Some chests are too well-hidden for a looter shooter, especially for their feeble rewards. Overall, the gameplay is solid, the story is simple but effective and the gameplay loop is addictive. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Eu geralmente não curto RPGs de tiro com perspectiva isométrica (câmera em cima do personagem) e com foco em loot, mas resolvi dar uma chance ao Relic Hunters Legend e gostei bas…

Relic Hunters Legend is an energetic blend of twin-stick shooting, action RPG progression, and cooperative looter gameplay developed and published by Rogue Snail. Set in a vibrant science fiction universe, the game follows a band of charismatic Relic Hunters as they fight to liberate the galaxy from the tyrannical Duke Ducan while uncovering forgotten memories and ancient relics. Its colorful visual style, humorous dialogue, and approachable presentation make it immediately inviting, but beneath its cheerful appearance lies a surprisingly deep progression system that rewards long-term investment. Instead of simply focusing on nonstop combat, the game successfully balances narrative, exploration, character growth, and loot collection into a cohesive experience. The combat is the heart of the adventure, delivering fast, fluid firefights that emphasize movement, precision, and strategic use of each Hunter's unique abilities. Every encounter introduces waves of enemies with different behaviors, encouraging players to adapt their tactics instead of relying on repetitive strategies. Weapons feel responsive and satisfying, while a constant stream of equipment upgrades provides steady mot…
