Revelatio feels very unique, a turned based roguelite with incredible art style and mood giving a dark fantasy vibe. The mechanics are interesting, like the corruption mechanic, being possible to turn enemies to your side or vice versa, giving a lot more of strategic decisions that can be taken like for example who should you corrupt vs who to defeat vs when to use your resources. The roguelite aspect of it feels meaningful without trying to be too punishing. But the learning curve at the start feels very steep so dont let it discourage you. It can be a bit repetitive like many other strategic games at the start but in the long run is well worth. If you like turned based strategy this game is for you and given the price I would say is well worth. ✧⊱༒︎༺ If you liked my review and want to know what other games I play and review, check my Curator page Cosmic Nest ༻༒︎⊰✧7 found this helpful
I'm 90% positive the NPC art is AI generated and this is the only reason i'm leaving a negative review. Otherwise, the game is pretty basic. It has the "grindy" roguelike element where you have to fail a bunch of runs to get permanent upgrades and to save good units you upgrade. The style is great, but I have a high suspicion that it is not solely from the devs, considering again that I have a very high suspicion this is AI gen. You can tell that they put a bunch of filters over everything for the style to make it look pixelated, though it is very obviously NOT pixel art. This also leads to a lot of discrepancy in what the art looks like which I think further sells the AI use. The only good standout of the game is the faith and corruption system. I will admit I had fun trying to corrupt all the bosses, as it was a unique challenge that actually required some strategy, planning and teambuilding. It's also cool to actually be able to use the bosses in another run, though it's often overkill and just for the hell of it. The rest of the game is pretty easy and pretty repetitive once you have the upgrades and start saving upgraded crazy units to the divine hall to use on other runs. Th…2 found this helpful

Needs more exposure, as it is a solid game. It is definitely tough to survive in the first few rounds, but as you get the hang of the mechanics, continue to collect upgrades and stigmata for your reusable units, you can become pretty unstoppable, making every encounter except for the bosses relatively trivial. The corruption mechanic is obviously the most interesting one, and there is a lot of strategizing, upgrading and planning required to corrupt some of the later bosses. A tip for new players is not to bother trying to corrupt every enemy you see early on, as you simply don't have enough ways to lower their faith. It becomes a lot easier later on with new stigmata types, so focus on corrupting a few low cost units so that you can beef them up through upgrades before eventually getting through the menu upgrades in the sanctum. Hidden gem for sure, recommend to anyone that like deck-building or auto-chess style gameplay.
I loved the game play, art style & way the story was told. I wish it was longer, I think I ended up beating everything within 10 hours or less and then spent another 7-ish hours grinding and figuring out how to corrupt all the bosses and get all the achievements. I would totally buy DLC if it added a few more levels or a second game if it was longer. The only thing i'm a bit annoyed about is that I couldn't display the game on my steam profile after I got all the achievements for some reason.
