About Revenge of the Headless
game introduction
It's a game of adventure. All you have to do is take your head, kill a blood trail in the old castle, and finally take your throne.
Unlike ordinary brick games, breaking the barrel is not our goal. What we need to do is more important and great, and that is to eliminate all the enemies that stand in our way. Please note that they are more dangerous than barrels!
But it doesn't matter, though you are the Headless, but you still have your head to fight for you!
game content:
- a headless
- and his head
- wizard guide
- attendant who gives you a reward.
- 90+ different levels
- 30+ different monsters
- 50+ different props.
- a more difficult pattern than ordinary bricks.
- special events that are randomly triggered in the game
- special small game
- the final BOSS is determined according to the behavior of the player.

What a genius idea to bring up breakout and roguelike all together! Definitely brings me back to the arcade memory. The levels are pretty well designed and so does many in-game mechanism. There are some details that would use some improvement like resolution is not adjustable even in windowed mode... After all a great indie! Worths every penny at its price.7 found this helpful
I really liked the concept behind Revenge of the Headless. It's basically like that classic arcade game Breakout or Arkanoid (The brick breaking game, you've probably played it), but instead of bricks you have enemies that fire missiles at your paddle. So you have to dodge while you're trying to aim the ball at these moving targets, it's quite challenging. The story behind the title is that you're a Durahan, which is a Japanese version of the Dullahan, the Celtic headless horseman. And, as the title suggests, you're out for revenge. Not that the game has or needs a real story. But for the sake of flavour, they added this mythical fantasy setting to the game. The paddle is the headless body and the ball is your head. This game has pixel graphics, which usually I love, but in this case, it looks pretty basic. Sadly, after playing this game for a while, I've come to the conclusion that that's true in general for this game. It's pretty basic, it doesn't feel fleshed out. I didn't feel excited to explore more of this game, or wanting to play “one more go” after I died. I think the main issue is the gameplay, which falls flat somehow. I think one of the main problems is most of the w…6 found this helpful
Controlling the paddle feels really bad. A lot of cool ideas though.3 found this helpful
Revenge of the Headless is short and fun mix of brick-breaker and rouge-lite. Pros: - Amazing 'castlevania-like' soundtrack - Huge variety of spells/items - Rouge-lite elemets, secret challenge rooms, gambling - Great pixelarts - Awesome devs fixing all the game issues right after reporting a bug Cons: - Physics are kinda clunky in some situations - Getting used to game engine takes lot of time - Few rooms where your head can stuck without a chance of getting it back and completing the level - Some other minor bugs Overally, worth giving a try :D3 found this helpful
Needs more work on the bugs such as getting stuck on the slime boss stage :c Other than the few bugs I've encountered I give this a big ♥♥♥♥ yeah! Great music Great gameplay Great artwork! 9/10 would buy again ;)2 found this helpful
The game is wonderful. At first, it seemed too difficult and unbeatable, but the further you go, the better it gets to play, and the more opportunities to level up your character open up. I highly recommend it to all fans of the Arkanoid genre.
