Warning: GameGuru Asset Flip!
TheWraithTrails is a what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" bought the GameGuru first person shooter construction kit (no coding required, it's just a GUI!) and cobbled out a map or two using stock GameGuru assets... nothing in this game can fully be called the creation of the developer, and yet they also failed to credit GameGuru or acknowlegde any of the GameGuru assets. They're trying (badly) to pass someone else's work as their own. It's just a bunch of random GameGuru assets dropped around a really lazy, stock textured GameGuru map template with a few of the GameGuru asset store horror assets dumped lazily on top. Developed and published by wraithgames, the game positions itself as a no-frills adventure where the primary objective is to survive a sequence of combat trials and ultimately confront a powerful wraith-themed final enemy. Its scope is modest from the outset, clearly prioritizing simplicity and accessibility over depth, polish, or expansive systems. The structure of the game is immediately apparent once play begins. Progression is divided into a series of numbered levels, each populated with hostile creatures that must be defeated in order to advance. Along the way, players collect weapons and consumables such as potions that increase health or provide limited healing. There are no complex character classes, skill trees, or branching paths; instead, the game relies on repetition and incremental power increases to sustain momentum. This arcade-like structure makes the experience easy to understand but also limits how much variety it can offer over time. Combat is the centerpiece of TheWraithT…
