Ribbit Rogue

Ribbit Rogue is an outstanding deckbuilding roguelite with an extremely addictive and satisfying core gampelay loop and super charming artwork. In the game you have a number of weapons and armor that each have their own unique attack die. You get branching paths, relics, new abilities, and most intriguingly, the ability to manipulate your dice. If there is, say a status effect that is very synergistic with your build, you will sometimes get a chance to move that particular face onto another die, potentially erasing a weakness. There is always a strategic consideration of whether you want to take a certain dice that might be weaker just because there is a certain face you might want to move off of it in the future. There are lots of fun moments and tough decisions like this over the course of a run. And the art is seriously so damn good. The developer is just a single guy who has been working on the game for over six years! He has his own youtube channel chronicling his journey and he seems to be a super earnest and likeable guy. This roguelike is incredibly charming and full of life. I love the concept and it is honestly so addicting trying to make the most broken dice you can! I watched a youtube video by the creator of the game, talking about the development process and you can tell they have a lot of passion. Give them your moneyyyyy!

One of the best games on Playdate is even better on Steam with lots of improvements and new content. The dice-building is very addictive, and it plays great on Steam Deck.

Finished my first run and found the game to be very fun, haven't run into any bugs, the artwork is super cute, the music is pleasant. After reading through some of the other reviews I saw the developer had a YouTube where they documented the development and is already actively paying attention to balancing and any bugs that do occur. Definitely worth the price imo can't wait to play more!
