Knowing that Rise Again is being developed by only two people makes the current experience even more impressive. It’s already incredibly fun to play, and I can see the massive potential it holds. Since it’s in Early Access, I’m reviewing this with the understanding that updates are on the way, and I’m genuinely excited to see how the game evolves. Looking forward to the full release!3 found this helpful
I recommend to have an eye on this if you like action rogue-lites. Whether you want to buy it this early only you can decide though. At this time it is more an investment into the future. It's well made and a solid foundation, but very light on content and very clearly still in early access. I finished everything that's currently available in 3.0 hours. Currently there is one full biome, the 2nd one is quite far but has no boss yet and limited enemy variety, and after a number of rooms it just drops you back to main menu and its over. What is there is a rogue-lite with nice progression, I like the graphics and that you have many different spells and attacks available, not limited by bad cooldowns. So combat feels fast and fluid. I encountered some minor bugs, but it saves after every room already, so in the worst case you have to go back to main menu and then click play again, and you lost nothing but that one room. I had to do this 3 times in my 3 hours of play time because exits would not unlock even though no enemies were visible anymore.3 found this helpful
I'm leaving a positive review, with a few significant caveats. The price point for the level of content is currently not good. Writing/story is pretty weak. The game is not terribly hard and I made it all the way through the first time after about 2 hours. The maps are not very inspiring with fairly limited diversity. That said, I think there is a lot of potential, so I am keeping the review positive for now. Overall, the mechanics feel pretty good and in that regard it is fun to play. I did find it somewhat annoying that after a certain point, it seemed like gold almost completely stopped dropping. I would love to see more characters, weapons and balance. Seems like they have a decent foundation, but I only found a few of the synergies to be strong enough to be viable. You'll find out real quick at the first boss.2 found this helpful
Great game, with many spells and combos to discover. Runs are really fast, and the game is a fun mix between hack and slash's and rogue lites. Overall a fun experience with great developers who worked on the game a lot, and still improving upon it.2 found this helpful
Hey if your thinking about getting this game and like rogue style games like this, This is a gem of a game. Also still seems early and tons of possible upside. The game is gorgeous and really fun to play. I am not huge on games like this either, but this has a nice feel to it. Hope the Devs here keep building on this as it can only get better. If multiplayer was added, I think this would do really well. Either way total buy in my opinion.1 found this helpful
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play the game. It's in early access, and I think it's turned out well despite that. Well done. I found the game a bit challenging (or maybe I'm just not good at these types of games, lol), but other than that, it's quite successful. If the game is fleshed out a bit more in terms of content (I assume you'll do this in the future since it's in early access), I can say I'm satisfied.1 found this helpful
