Really good for someones first game.1 found this helpful
This is a solo-dev run project, and a high-schooler at that. Surprisingly plays like an 8-bit version of Dead Cells, with unique visuals and lore that makes it stand on its own two legs. Precision platforming, rogue-lite elements, and a vision of what they wanted to achieve is very much there. In the right hands of speed-runners, or those interested in precision based games, this may just be a hit. Some critiques: UI and Controls - Feels early, but not every game-developer has an eye for accessible UI. While trying to be accessible to those using a controller or kbm, the tutorial fails to fully explain which buttons are what. Playing around with it is definitely necessary. The d-pad cannot be used in the menus, which is a common problem I've seen with solo-run projects. Just takes some getting used to. Death's Web made me think about my life choices, it made me lose my wife and everyone i've ever loved has abandoned me because i feel some deep connection with the main character of this game. Death's Web is a challenging rougelite game that made me want to scream as loud as i possibly can. I would rather jerk off with a piece of sandpaper than fight those dumbass crystals that drop lighting on you as if they were zeus, i have been stuck on the same level for almost an hour and it genuenly gave me schizophrenia to the point that wherever i look i see those stupid ass crystals staring me down with baby oil in the hand about to shove their pointy end inside my chocolate starfish. 10/10 game though absolutely do recommend
really like the artstyle of the game its fun i like that picking up curses in this game actually benefits you by letting you swap them out for blessings and how you have to sort them properly to maxamise your benefits from them the enemies and bosses are fun to fight its cool how this isx a roguelike that still gives you permanent boosts by actually rewarding you for making it further and theres so many diffrent weapons meaning alot of playstyles as options unfortunately i havent seen all of them yet would 100% recommend playing its really fun
Great game. Y'all honestly gotta check it out. Amazing game dude!
