This game is a gem! Many hours to enjoy an old school rpg, my favorite kind of game. I have not yet finished the game, but I can already tell that it has big replay value. The dev is quick to help if needed. To all my Aldorlea friends, try this game, it will not disappoint.

[b]ROBBIE'S TALE – A GRINDFEST WITH A LINEAR, UNREWARDING PAYOFF[/b] [hr][/hr] [h3][b]INTRODUCTION[/b][/h3] I’ve finally finished [i]Robbie’s Tale[/i], and honestly, I regret the time spent on it. What started as a seemingly standard indie RPG quickly turned into an exercise in patience, repetition, and frustration. The game is linear to a fault, drowning in pointless grinding, and the payoff at the end is underwhelming at best. [hr][/hr] [h3][b]GAMEPLAY – A LOOP OF PAIN[/b][/h3] You start as a lone character with a simple goal—reach your brother, who should be nearby. But, as soon as you set out, enemies attack. No problem, right? Well, there’s no way to heal yourself aside from rare potion drops or running back home to rest. Campsites? Nope. You can also pay 15 gold at an inn, which is a small fortune early on. The real problem is the difficulty curve. There isn’t one. Instead, you get hit with random difficulty spikes out of nowhere. Reaching your brother? Good luck. The moment you find him, you’re jumped by three mobs that don’t even match the game’s art style. These fights are brutal, and if you aren’t over-leveled, you’ll get wrecked. And so, the game forces you into an endle…

Even after so long of playing this game, it lingers on my mind. Exploring the vast collection of Easter eggs and general content of this heartfelt rpg lovers game is extraordinary. For a free game with endless replayability, due to the side quests and differing morphs this game introduces, is amazing. Yes it is a short campaign clocking in at around 20 odd hours , with a walk through, but it doesn't stop there. Every play through is unique. The choices presented to you during game play, no matter how small or minute it may seem, leads to differing outcomes within side quests and the game world as a whole. For game a game with only 2 producers, developers, and creators, they have done a spectacular job. The world they've built can and will only extend in the coming years. I've left this a while since my last play through but trust me this game leaves you waiting for more. I can only give my honest opinion on this game, and that being TEN OUT OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TEN!!! FAN-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-TASTIC!!!

As someone who has been playing classic RPG's for a very long time, this is a pretty solid game. There is a unique weirdness to it that reminds me of earthbound with a nice mix of final fantasy. I recommend this game but only if you have time to spare because the content in this game will keep you going for awhile. The story is something that I have not seen done before which is rare these days. The morphing system is a great way to spice up the game at the halfway point and the monster arena is so addictive. I will be playing this again due to the replayability alone! This gets a 8/10 from me. good job.

RPG Maker strikes again! "Robbie's Tale" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This RPG Maker asset flip carries the usual godawfully written high school anime club dropout fan-fiction, but at least it doesn't seem to be all about the "developer" and his imaginary anime girlfriend. Instead it's a laughably badly written, painfully generic fantasy fan-fiction where you put together some historical scraps and just do really badly designed RPG Maker "Final Fantasy" ripoff JRPG fights. It's no wonder this was a huge failure on Steam Direct. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer.
