good basic exploration of python I highly recommend this game for anyone even remotely interested in learning or even just practicing python the puzzles are interesting and do a good job of gradually increasing the challenge level without spoon feeding everything to you honestly probably one of the better intros to a programming language I've ever come across suitable for aspiring programmers of any age.

If you don't know Python or any programming at all, this game will do the job just fine in terms of the basics. I feel like the devs could cut down on the dialogue and focus on example after example. The more you code the better, the problems are simple and straight forward and the game serves as a nice and easy intro to one of the most popular languages of all time.

I buy these types of games to keep my coding skills fresh. Using my Python skills to solve puzzles, learn and have fun is not an unreasonable expectation. However, that has not been my experience with Robospital. I have about three or four so-called coding games in my library and each one has been a disappointment! With this game, I got up to floor "3F" (exercise 7/8) before I decided to throw in the towel. Nice but unhelpful debugger, was one of my bug bears. Clearly, unlike programming in the real world where you can solve a problem using different approaches and then refactor your code, this is not allowed in this game. At one point, I literally copied the code I was attempting to use in the Python IDLE to see if it worked, and it did! You would be forgiven for coming away thinking you had forgotten how to code simply because your approach or answer isn't what the game was looking for. To the patient and persistent, fill your boots! There maybe light at the end of the tunnel after much effort but the game is just not fun enough for me to expend the effort. IMHO, Robospital would be much improved with useful/helpful hints. I really have to stop buying these games …

I love the idea for this game, the art and story are really cute, but... currently can't recommend this game for programming *beginners*. There aren't enough instructions or examples for beginners, and it's too easy for seasoned programmers, so, is this game only for like, low-intermediate level programmers? XD The first chapter was perfect because it walked me through each step with examples, and then suddenly in chapter 2 it started giving sparse directions with new terms and no explanations. When you input something wrong, it gives the generic error message in programming language, with no additional explanation in human terms -- the way you would do if you wanna teach something. I'm gonna have to look up tutorials on the side in order to keep playing, which is an okay way to learn, but it would be more convenient (and fun) if tutorials and explanations were inside the game. There should be clues/help buttons on every puzzle IMO. The "key" button just opens a term dictionary that is only moderately helpful for a complete beginner; if I wanted to just read a dictionary of terms I could google it or find free Python PDFs online, they're abundant! But I wanted it to be in a c…

Good for picking up the basics of python. Few spelling errors but fun regardless

It's very simple gameplay wise, giving you instructions and having you write python code yourself to achieve various tasks. It reminds me of my python class in college only this is much more user friendly and greatly automates the experience. It's been years since i've touched python and i've forgotten just as much as I learned. This is really helping me get motivated to learn python again. I would even recommend this to kids getting interested in programming.
