About Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain

An angst-ridden teenager's innocent mistake becomes a race against time that could change the course of history. Against the backdrop of a mysterious island inhabited by strange characters, our protagonist must undo her mistake to save everyone.

You wake up on an unfamiliar island that is fantastical as it is unsettling, only to realize that you are now responsible for the lives of every one of its denizens. The denizens themselves vary in temperament as much as their looks, and your only hope of saving them is to interact at your own risk!

The journey is as much about one's own past and self-discovery as it is about handling the present. With more knowledge gained the stakes are raised higher and the depths you must explore increases in both breadth and complexity.
Rocco's Island is best enjoyed with a mouse and a good pair of headphones.

I like the art direction. In actuality I bought this game because after hovering around the trailer and the OST, I came to conclusion the game might be something I enjoy. And I admit, I initially enjoying this game. You play as a girl, washed up on some strange shore and because of some little mishap, You end up have to save the world and restore the harmony of the 4 elements (Yeah, Sound very familiar doesn't it :P ?) Mainly you are to traverse around the island, solving the puzzle to progress, This is where my "NO" point coming in, But we'll get to that later. At this moment of review, There are type of puzzle you'll get to play: - 3 tiles match, You know the deal, Moving tile to match the least 3 tiles and so on. The main goal is to breaking the tiles on designate area which would be the count down tile, You must match 3 tiles on designate area less than the provided limited movement, The puzzle is alright, And this is probably the kind of puzzle you met the most on this game. - Riddle, Answer the riddle and watching a little flashback with nice animation, I don't mind this at all. - Numeral summation, Moving the tiles with same numeral summation until it reaching the desi…17 found this helpful
The art is pretty, HOWEVER, the character walks PAINFULLY slow, and there is no way to speed it up, so sometimes it takes FOREVER to get to your next destination. When I would fail a puzzle and the stones would light up again, needing to be redone, it was infuriating having to wait for the character to go back. There is no option to zoom out of where you are either, so sometimes I would take the incorrect path just because I was not able to zoom out and see where I needed to go, and the actual map is all but useless. I also did not like that I was able to get to the end portion without even starting one entire section, and you cannot go back. The "puzzles" were repetitive and tedious. Don't get me started on the amount of dialogue either, and how you cannot skip ANY of it. I play almost exclusively point-click/adventure/puzzle games, and this one has a myriad of frustrating things in it for me personally. Let me run! Let me see where I need to go! Let me skip dialogue when I don't want to be forced to care about it! I do not feel like this game was worth the price AT ALL. Don't waste your money.11 found this helpful
This was one of the most frustrating, least fun games I've ever played. The designers make so many baffling decisions to reverse your progress and slow you down. It's like they made an adventure game and forgot to add puzzles, so they just threw in Match 3 and 2084 games and "riddles" where the answers are just THERE ON THE SCREEN. Casual games like match-3 and 2084 are best when you can play them in brief stints, one after the other, so when you have a spot of bad luck, you can just jump into another one. Adventure games are about progressing in a story through your attention and wits. The two just DO NOT mix. If you like adventure games, you're constantly impeded by random chance that you have no control over. If you like casual games, you're constantly impeded by long sections of walking and dialogue. And, in this game, if you lose enough match three games (which, again, you only have SOME control over, but are largely decided by the random chance of tile placement and appearance) you LOSE THE GAME. And to make things worse, if you lose just one match, you lose any power-ups you used during the match and your LAST match is erased and reset. There are "difficulty settings" whi…5 found this helpful
The world and characters are very charming. I would recommend putting the puzzles to normal or easy first time through so you can experience the story more easily (they are tile puzzles you encounter on the paths). So far I've also seen riddles which are always fun.2 found this helpful
*TLDR at bottom* Very sweet game, with absolutely *gorgeous* art. It feels very Alice in Wonderland, as your character just experiences a wide array of strange beings, and there's minimal explanations. I was intrigued for sure. My only critique is that the puzzles are repetitive. you play versions of bejeweled, 2048, and answer riddles via multiple choice, though the riddles were pretty interesting. I got a few riddles wrong until the last option, and I lost a few bejeweled games. Otherwise this is a very all ages game that seems skewed to younger ages. I don;t think that is a bad thing, as I think this would be a cute game to play with your kids or nieces/nephews. I did really appreciate being able to go back in to my file after the ending to get the collectibles I missed earlier. Sometimes the items you can click while scanning for collectibles can trigger automatic plot transitions that move you forward, and there isn't really a distinction between them and other collectibles. It wasn't an issue for most of the game as you can return to prior areas to search, but I wasn't able to fully scan the last 2 zones before I was sent to the ending credits. I was feeling frustra…1 found this helpful
Graphics gives a dreamy feeling and music is really comfortable. It's a light game, but with a strange charm. The puzzle game seemed easy and simple, but it was fun. If you are tired of complicated and hectic games, I recommend this game.1 found this helpful
