About Rogue Night

  • Exploration: Explore a huge world and dive into dungeons full of monsters, puzzles, and traps to find powerful weapons, rare rings, blueprints, tools, and of course, gold.
  • Master Your Weapons: Choose from 20 weapons, each with its own combat feel and a utility outside of combat. Daggers can pick locked chests, war hammers can break cracked blocks, whips grapple walls and cliffs, crossbows ignite barrels, and more. Level them up through combat to unlock their full power.
  • Customization: Build your hero with 3 distinct classes, 20 weapons that level up as you progress, 15 enchanted rings, and more than 35 upgrades, allowing you to craft a character that perfectly matches your style.
  • Build a Base: Gather resources, rescue survivors, and turn a simple campfire into a fortified town. Your survivors will provide resources and fight for you.
  • Rogue-lite Progression: Death is not the end. Collect the heads of zombies to buy permanent upgrades at the Witch Between Worlds. Choose normal mode for steady progress, or permadeath for a greater challenge.
  • Quest & Conquer: Navigate through traps and puzzles in dungeons to uncover the fate of the fallen heroes of Elandris and confront Necrosarian the Vile in a final battle for the Everrun.

Pretty good. Needs attacks at night though to warrant defenses more.

Game is awesome. The upgrades, weapons, npcs, music, resource gathering and building are all really fun and complement the overall game. As more is added it'll become better but currently the way the game is it's very much worth the cost. I haven't beaten the game just yet but will be working on it as it's held my attention. The only thing I could ask for is Steamdeck support as these types of games are perfect in hand held imo.

this game is extremely addictive and has fun exploration aspects without just dragging you by the nose to the next quest step

Ok so the tooltip fox was neat but between that, the how to play at the start, and the early quests guiding me, I still feel like I was missing info, Namely: Why did I have a hunger penalty when I have plenty of food? Nothing including keybinds says anything about an eat button. What controls the enemies spawning in places? Because the in game tips say light/fire but neither that nor tiles seemed to entirely keep enemies out of my base or random houses. Do I have to do something specific to unlock the bow? Because I've passed at least 15 chests tied to balloons and have a tier two greatsword maxed but havent seen a bow yet. I get that most of the NPCs resource farm for you, but I have no idea what the engineer does, kinda expected him to unlock something but I built his blueprint board and power source and didn't notice a difference. Other complaints include enemies spawning out of bounds and generally getting lost in the world, I kept getting blocked off by the blue/green blocks that I think needed quests to proceed but the one place that spawned a quest seemed to be blocked off by more blocks. The game makes sure to tell you permadeath is the default and death is inte…

This game is such an awesome combination between Zelda style combat and base building survival gameplay (thankfully with no permadeath). While Rogue Night doesn't have the largest overworld map, the amount of exploration that is contained here is just fantastic. With several equipment upgrades, the workbench to build up your defenses and three different playstyles (classes), there is a ton of activities to do. The tutorial was helpful and I got the hang of slashing enemies pretty quickly. Collect those zombie heads, every little bit helps with surviving your next run! The ground tiles have clear borders to help with building out your base and the pixel art is very charming. If you have any interest in a Zelda like, crafting game with light RPG character statistics, then give this indie game a try. Rogue Night is a blast and is worth the time investment!
