It was similar to a lot of classic MMO's. Problems: 1. Can use real money for in-game items via their MOS Shop. Pay-to-win with extra steps. 2. You cannot eat food to heal while in combat, only out of combat as fights are simulated prior to combat instead of reactive. 3. The personal storage system and the equipment system are very annoying to get used to. Items in your chest placeholders for items in your inventory with no way to disable it. Equipment you wear will sit where ever you had it in your inventory instead of sorting to the top, or better yet just being put onto an equipment screen so its sorted away from your inventory.
Look, Ma, I can buy MOS! Really not the best, needing to launch the massive memory hungry Steam client to play this, but it's a good way to spend money in MO. I'm running the Itch version as a local desktop client to play, but keep the Steam version linked since it is a much easier way to buy MOS than dealing with MO direct or gods forbid with PayPal. Since it is such a small install leaving the Steam version on works just fine for occasional purchases, or when I'm about to hit a milestone that will give me an achievement. Because this is an actual account, not a Star Wars or Guild Wars of FFXIV "We know you have an account but it is worthless with Steam, and the Steam version is pointless in the real client" there's no reason not to use this version as you can use any other as well. Oh, as an added bonus? This works on a 128k connection, not just via broadband. There are times when I have a trickle of data and most things won't work, even the Steam client will hand on a failed cloud sync, but this chugs along nicely on dial-up speeds.
