I honestly don’t know how a game in 2026 can still be this flawed. It’s frustratingly poor in so many areas. On a surface level, it looks fine—menu screens, player models, presentation all seem solid and there’s not much to complain about there. But once you actually start playing, it falls apart quickly. The first few minutes feel promising, then the issues start piling up. A fullback will chase down a relatively simple 40m kick, only to fumble it repeatedly as it bounces off his body and head multiple times before somehow going dead in goal, instead of just cleanly picking it up. You can get a penalty and go for a kick to touch, but if you aim even slightly beyond the default, it often just ends up kicking straight back into play. Tackles and fend animations are also stupid, with players fending down the line but the fend animation bounces them 5m into touch. I really want to enjoy it, but it gets to the point where you can only handle one game at a time before it becomes genuinely frustrating. There are just too many things that don’t make sense. It's just so frustrating to play, takes all the fun out of Rugby League and is just the most unenjoyable version of it. For the novelty of playing your team (what I got it for) it's not worth it to ruin your opinion of the sport. This videogame literally makes you think worse of the NRL and Rugby League, I don't know how they keep getting the franchise. Fight the temptation to get it for novelty, wait til it's on sale if ever -- but looks like it never will be. It does a disservice to the Australian games industry to charge $100 for this.
its got to be the worst sporting game ive ever played. The laziness to use everything from the old game. You will concede tries that you have players to defend for. It doesnt do the basics right. It shames the game of rugby league and i want to throw my controller through my display after every janky interaction (most tackles). Id never recommend this game to ANYONE.
