SUMMARY: Buy the game only at a discount if you are really set on playing a simulation game of time management style and exhausted other options. It is inevitable to compare this game to Paper Planes, so here it goes: - MOST IMPORTANTLY: Game mechanics are not even near Paper Planes'. The scanning gets tedious soon enough, slowly moving your mouse is simply boring and does not feel like a skill. Rules are not as expansive as Paper Planes' and memory is a secondary concern. - Story is not as good and personal as Paper Planes. Characters you meet are not engaging. However, the setting and background story is interesting and original enough. - Failing or the level of success (number of patients healed etc.) does not function into the gaming as it does in Paper Planes (how much money you made that day). It is simply pass or fail compared to "ok you managed another day but you now have to be even more careful or 'you lost your son" or you will be disadvantaged or advantaged in the next level) Pros: - It feels like the designers cared enough to put out the best game they thought of - A type of game that severely lacks from the gaming world (hence I do not totally regret paying for it) …

Scanning is frustrating enough, especially with arbitrary failures on the diagnosis. But I draw the line when you reverse/mirror controls. I wanted to like this game, I really did. But right now I'm so mad I might break my mouse.

Interesting game...haven't seen much like it before. Overall it's pretty fun, and the story is interesting too. Here are pros/cons: Pros: - interesting story/set up - unique gameplay - once you get into the game it becomes a real challenge balancing all the diagnosis stuff - hacker levels change things and make you think Cons: - pacing's a bit off, with a slow build up into the game - text is sometimes a bit confusing so you have to read it a few times to get things Overall I'd recommend this game as it's different and worth a play (tho probably not to everyone's tastes).

It's kind of alright, it has a few interesting moments. The lore and setting is interesting, but the gameplay loop is kind of frustrating. The way moving the mouse too fast causes bad results is frustrating when the goal is not accuracy to begin with. In the later sections, with the Breasts scan and such - I kind of lost patience to go on. It makes sense with the game story that you're put against impossible odds, but it never quite feels like you're a badass, compared to games like Trauma Center from back then where you had to do a lot of crazy special operations over the duration of the game, SORS just kind of lets monotony and repetition sets in, going for a more papers please scenario.

SORS is the kind of game I am more than happy to recommend - as a really interesting experience, rather than a 'fun game' to play. Health care is abstracted, from finding cancerous cells to the way you talk to patients, and thanks to the time limits, each individual consultation is a race against time where you do your best to help as much as you can... But it gets harder as more things get piled on, and you will sometimes make mistakes, no matter how many cheat sheets you write out for yourself while playing the game. So if you're looking for a game that puts you in the shoes of a healthcare provider in an alternate future, give this game a go!
