Story is surprisingly well written, and they way they animated some of their enemy fighters is hilarious and amazing! The music is a collection of royalty free music and possibly ai assisted tunes, but to be honest I found most of these to be absolute bops to groove to during combat. But where it REALLY shines in my opinion is the combat. Now, I do not consider myself a great gamer, and I must confess, I was not good enough to beat the true final boss of the game :C If you think you can do better than me, I welcome you to try! You won't regret the experience! I love games like undertale, Everhood, and Deltarune that experiment with combat, and I truly think the game developers were on to something with this Aim Trainer + Punchout combination they got going here. I could feel the adrenaline rush as I would become lazer focused, blocking a seemingly endless string of attacks from the enemy, desperately hoping it would be my turn to counter attack soon. Everytime I missed a prompt, let me tell you, it felt DEVASTATING. So many times, the enemy HP bar and mine were neck and neck, coming down to whoever could steal that final fatal hit on the other. I wish I was a better writer so I…3 found this helpful
I can't remember the last time I played an 8-bit game, but this one certainly reignited the joy I felt when I used to play them. For anyone thinking about picking up this game or even just curious about it, I urge you to experience S.C.C. Rusted all the way through to the end! The story and art draw you in, compelling you to explore at your own pace. Meanwhile, the combat challenges you to refine your skills in reactionary battles that grow tougher the further you go. And don’t even get me started on the music! I had my fair share of losses and moments where I needed a break, but with some rest and a soundtrack that fueled me, I came back stronger, focused on the prize, and ready to launch a volley of counterattacks to claim my victory. Reaching the end, whether you beat the game or aim to platinum it, the rewards make the journey worthwhile. There's a deep sense of satisfaction amid the rush of adrenaline, but you'll have to experience that for yourself to truly understand. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, and now, I invite you to strap in and venture into the world of S.C.C. Rusted. May our paths cross once you've faced your own trials and tribulations along the way…2 found this helpful
I love 8 bit style games and the art in this game is very well done. This game can be completed just as fast or as long as you'd like. I myself have spent 10 hours before beating the game and there is still more to go before 100% completion. That amount of time was put into mini games as well as the main quest. The game can get fairly challenging but nothing is unconquerable that I have played so far. I think players will be surprised to find a well written narrative within this game as well. I found myself wanting to reach the end and beating the final challenges to see how things would unravel and I think other players will too.2 found this helpful
S.S.C Rusted is a super cool game that is both challenging and fun. The developer has made changes to it over time for assistance if the game gets too hard which I really appreciate. I still try my best to not use the assistance and as the game progresses it certainly shows its difficulty but it's hard to stop once you pick it up. For what you are able to do in the game I would say its definitely worth your money and I have fun taking breaks in between fighting fishing or looking around for new things to unlock. I highly recommend anyone who wants to take a good challenge on to get this game.1 found this helpful
S.S.C Rusted is a very interesting and challenging game. The combat system requires good aim and reaction time as well as some strategy via the use of items. During combat you'll see 3 colored reticles: Red for and opening in which you can click to attack Yellow for an attack in which you right click to block Black for a fake out or an exhausted attack You have health and stamina, blocking too long reduces stamina and miss clicking an attack does as well, if you run out of stamina (or get hit) you take damage. Pretty simple right? Wrong. Enemies have different attacks so they won't always be in the same places and attacks/openings are also randomized so you must remain on your toes! Like I said there are items that heal/replenish stamina as well as items that do damage/reduce the damage of punches or kicks but use them wisely as some are rare and expensive (you will not get them back after a lost fight) As I stated the game requires decent aim and reaction time -- 2 things in which I struggle -- so I did get my butt kicked but It was fun none the less! The game also has little side quests, minigames and secrets to find if you want to take a break from the combat! …1 found this helpful
While it may be rough around the edges, this truly is a love letter to classic and retro games, and you can tell that so much love is put in here. Whether it is the addicting mini-games or the engrossing narrative, this game is a win. 4/5
