About S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

✦ AI summary

Explore a transformed Chernobyl Zone ravaged by a catastrophic energy anomaly while navigating a brutal three-way faction war as the mercenary Scar. Uncover the prequel story behind the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game through new locations, weapons, and an advanced upgrade system where your choices reshape the balance of power.

Great Emission, the biggest anomalous energy blowout from the times of Second Incident at The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, has shaken the world again and reshaped the Zone. To investigate its cause and and prevent future cataclysms is your only chance to survive in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

WAR OF FACTIONS

With the anomalous activity at its maximum, the unstable Zone continues to tremor with outbursts. The transformation of the Zone map destabilizes the fragile balance of forces in the Zone. Hostilities for the new territories, artifact fields and spheres of influence flare up among groups. Feuds and friendships are left behind – now, everyone watches out only for themselves. The Faction War has begun. To survive, join one of the parties and knock out opponents over the Cordon... Or benefit from working for all the factions at once, like a true mercenary.

NEW PATHS

The safe and trusted pathways are no more. Known places disappear in impenetrable fields of anomalies, stalkers and entire expeditions vanish or remain trapped within. Mysterious territories that have been lost since the appearance of the Zone are opening up, calling for explorers. Your mission is to become a pioneer and explore all the new areas that have become accessible in "Clear Sky"!

MYSTERIES OF THE PAST

As a mercenary named Scar, play a key role in Strelok’s fate and discover new details to the original game story, revealing its major secrets. Visit the familiar places as they were before the original game starts and witness the events that shaped the Zone to the years ahead.

Game features:
  • A prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl, that reveals the backstory of the Zone, familiar characters and locations.
  • New types of equipment and weapons: HPSS-1m, hunting rifle, RP-74.
  • New locations: Swamps, Red Forest, Limansk and Abandoned Hospital, full of new stories and tasks.
  • An advanced upgrade system for weapons and armor with technicians, allowing you to improve and customize your favorite pieces.
  • Player's actions can affect the balance of power in the Zone and the influence of factions.
  • A dozen of new anomalies and artifacts, and a new artifact hunting system utilizing detectors.
  • Improved graphics, interface and AI, making the journey through the sinister radioactive lands even more convenient.

I honestly am bit baffled how some people can still hold the second game in the STALKER series in good regard. As for me this was one of the most tedious and unsatisfying game in series I have ever played. One of few good things. We can finally repair and upgrade armor and weapons. But then you realize you are hanging on this system cause good chunk of weapons won't be accurate to hit anything closer than 3 meters. And even if they hit: MAN does gunplay feel off. A bandit in raincoat should not tank 5 shotgun shells at almost point blank range. If SOC did ok with it's gunplay and that game had worst pistol in gaming history (Makarov PM) then I gotta ask: What happened here? AI is also on new level of bad. Military sitting outside house while I am inside firing bullets into their heads with silenced pistol and having no reaction as it penetrates theirs skulls. And grenade spam? The moment you hear someone "Catch a grenade" you better make a plan in next second to leave cover as his whole squad will IN SYNC throw 100% accurate grenade right next your feet. Doesn't even matter what cover you are as I have witnessed with my own eyes grenades going through solid objects ( In this case a…

A very underrated game in the og S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy. I enjoyed it a lot, even more than Shadow Of Chernobyl honestly. It is also the most beautiful game out of the three, the skies look so gorgeous. Fit's the name "Clear Sky". And as a bonus Scar is the most badass protag from the series. Do make sure to install the SRP mod tho. It fixes a lot of bugs and script issues while keeping the game fully vanilla.

Just finished playing S.T.A.K.E.R. Clear Sky. The game is genuinely beautiful, but the finale was one of the biggest disappointments in all time I've played games. Maybe if I took a longer route and got all the heals I could, I would've made my experience easier, but I've suffered immense mental torment. No heals, enemies kept throwing grenades at me non-stop, gun kept jamming, kept bleeding and couldn't move, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything. Maybe I'm a noob or smth, but it was a terrible experience, and nobody is gonna give me my nerves back. I almost finished the game but I couldn't bring myself to do that. It's the worst time I've ever had playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
