The game runs in the background by default, so you can automate tasks for a while and use the materials after(this can be changed in settings if you desire the game to pause when you minimize it). Each one of the buildings can house different types of snakes and each one sheds a different scale. Their scales can be used to construct new buildings, craft better tools and equipment or be sold for gold. Even a very motivated and talented dragon cannot do it all on their own. I hate to leave a negative review, but man, this was such a disappointment. I enjoyed the demo for this game even though it was a bit buggy, but when I sat down with the full release, I found it to be a tedious, frustrating grind. (I actually didn't experience the bugs mentioned by the other reviews.) TL;DR: - food, resources, currency are all wildly unbalanced - most of my gold came from random idle-style bug catching rather than my elaborate, labor intensive snake farm - progression is restrictive and horribly linear - building anything requires tedious obstacle clearance - (not discussed below) extremely clunky UI/controls i'm not sure how much really changed from the demo to the full release, but the game's economy feels much less balanced now, particularly looking at the amount of food the snakes consume compared to the amount produced by fishing huts and hunting. The early game kept pushing me to expand and add more snakes when I couldn't feed the ones I had. Gold, the game's actual currency, also felt incredibly unbalanced. The game acts like you're farming snakes to sell their scales, but I ended up needing to hoard most of the scales my snakes (SLOWLY) produced because …4 found this helpful
As of 2/18, there are many bugs with save games. It is really frustrating needing to wait around until things like this are fixed, but I would not personally say that the game was too early for release. That being said, I reached out to devs on their Discord, and they are extremely friendly, responsive, and working things out. I am enjoying the experience that the game provides, and I hope that the way this game is presented continues to be refined and improved upon. I feel like this game is a gem that will only continue to improve and impress. Overall, I am enjoying my experience. I wish we had snake cosmetics, but that's a silly thing that can be added after the initial growing pains.3 found this helpful

The controls are absolutely atrocious and it's missing very basic QOL elements. Despite that, it's still fun.
Loving the game so far with 5hrs in, made it through all the seasons and tutorial. Loving the vibe and cute little sounds. This is a casual entry game good for kids as well, though they should be good readers to learn about the snakes and their abilities. So recommend for 8 and up. Theming is wonderful, more love for snake games! Lots to unlock and explore!
Cute, fun, cozy game. You can tell the devs put a lot of heart into it. Enjoyable gameplay loop of gather resources > craft gear > gather more resources > make better gear. It took me approximately eight hours to unlock all of the expeditions in my first turn. I played on 3x speed amd didn't decorate. Now that I've unlocked different starting zones and main dragons, I'm looking forward to coming back in a few months and starting another ranch with different parameters. I encountered a minor issue (unsure if it was a bug or me not understanding a gameplay element) and the devs were very responsive in the forums.
