About Schwarzerblitz
"Indie fighter Schwarzerblitz pays tribute to early ’90s 3D fighters" - Shoryuken
"Schwarzerblitz shows love to early polygonal fighters" - Siliconera
Schwarzerblitz is a love letter to '90s 3D low-poly fighters, featuring 27 playable characters, more than 30 stages, ring out mechanics, classic arcade endings, and a complete story mode. Steel your fists and let the Black Lightning strike!

It's 2065 and the world is not what we used to know. Fennoscandia has sunk deep into the ocean, half of Ireland is ridden by haemophages, nuclear power has been replaced by reality-distortion-resonance (RDR) power plants, and an alien planetoid has made first contact for more than fifty years, by now.
In 2064, a major accident shook the whole Europe: Euterpe, the Italian capitol city, was razed by an explosion of incredible power, followed by a storm of black lightnings. The accounts of the witnesses diverged and no light was shed on the real cause of the disaster. After a one-year manhunt, the Delta Team has finally found a consistent trail, which leads directly to a secret government project known as Schwarzer Blitz, "the black lightning"...

Game Mechanics
- five button system: Guard, Punch, Kick, Tech and Trigger
- fluid combo system: most attacks can chain into each other, leading to long strings and combos
- impact attacks: send your opponent flying with powerful blows - if near the border of the stage, this will throw them out of the ring
- trigger attacks: by using a bullet counter, the next attack will break the opponent's guard and increases the hitstun, leading to easier combos and humongous damage
- trigger guard / combo breaker: when comboed, you can use a bullet counter to cancel the hitstun and strike back against your opponent

passion project with an awesone story :D1 found this helpful
kinda game that makes you go "aw yeah"1 found this helpful
Schwarzerblitz is easily one of my all-time favourite fighting games. The story is highly enjoyable, but PvP is the area where the game shines most. Anyone playing should make an effort to get together with a group of friends and play a tournement locally. I can 100% recommend this indie passion project oozing with charm and originality, it's difficult not to love it.
Classic indie arcade style fighting game! 8/10
Ah I'm schwartzing it. I'm schwartzing my blitz.
Schwarzerblitz is one of those games that doesn’t try to be perfect - it tries to exist as a full 3D fighting game experience. And in many ways, it actually succeeds. Schwarzerblitz is:a solid fighting game foundation, surprisingly content-rich for a free title, retro-styled with real personality, mechanically interesting with depth potential, limited by lack of official online play and an unpolished but ambitious indie project. At its core, the game clearly aims to be a complete fighting game rather than just a collection of characters or a prototype. It includes: story mode, arcade mode, training, tutorial, survival, time attack, free match, extras, unlockable content, workshop and local multiplayer (shared screen). This already gives Schwarzerblitz a surprising sense of completeness. It feels like a 3D version of MUGEN, but structured like an actual game. The game carries a strong retro-inspired vibe: music supports the atmosphere well, arenas are varied, ring-outs, a large amount of free content (DLC), hidden modes and unlockables encourage exploration. On top of that, the Steam Workshop gives it long-term potential. Even if it isn’t very active right now, the idea alone sugges…
