Backstory

In the 23rd century, mankind has spread to the corners of the galaxy. Having been pushed too far, one human faction has begun its fight for independence, sparking a civil war between the newly formed FCR and the domineering ACC. However, not all battles are fought on the front lines: as FCR operative James Weston, you've been deployed far from civilized space, sent to investigate the disappearance of an allied team on an unforgiving alien world. Dropped into the middle of the wilderness, relying on your wits may not be enough: you're going to want an arsenal, and the planet has everything you need to build one. An abundance of exotic ores and plants are ready to be turned into cutting edge workstations, mid-battle snacks, sturdy base defenses, and (of course) a dazzling array of high-tech weaponry. Between the savage creatures and merciless soldiers that roam the land, you'll need every bullet you can craft in order to come out on top.
With these tools at your disposal, you'll have to pick up the trail of your compatriots, forging your way through a lush forest, descending into the bowels of the earth, trudging through a frigid land of ice, and beyond. Just be mindful of your body's needs - out here, thirst and starvation are as dangerous as claws and guns, and death isn't picky about how it gets you.
For those undeterred, the world's secrets await discovery. Weston has a mission to accomplish: do you have what it takes to see it through?

Game worked great back on the Oculus Rift CV1. Never finished it though so now years later I am back with a Oculus (or I guess now Meta) Quest 2... Not so great... lol First off hands point up so to point your weapon straight you are pointing almost straight down and to point down you are gonna have to have alien wrist joints! Luckily going into SteamVR settings and controller settings I noticed a few people already made custom controller settings for this game and the Quest 2 so I chose one and problem gone! Well one problem... Now I have issue where the quick menu you need to use to access weapons, tools, food, and water is waaaaaaay too close and bigger than my field of view and it is only open for a second unless I have my arms spread wide so hands no where in view I can't select anything as it will just auto grab whatever is where my hand is when menu pops up... Still have not figured out how to fix that... I am too tall... In my base my head is through the ceiling in the cave areas as I am a foot or two too tall... SteamVR seems to have gotten rid of the height adjustment setting sooooo.... hummm.... I read I can change it with 3rd party software that is free and…

Look let's just get this over with. Graphics run a bit poorly regardless of settings. I will leave my specs visible so you can see and compare. The game has this foggy overbloomed filter that makes lights very hard to look at. The game advertises multiplayer and it just doesn't have working multiplayer. The most game breaking issue is that the Quest 2 controller angle is so aggressively high that I feel like I need to try and break my wrist in the other direction in order to aim properly. I posted a question about the controller in the discussion and realized that the second most recent post at ALL in there was 5 months ago. With all this in mind, avoid this game in its entirety as well as the developers. If they have made or will ever make another game, I expect these types of issues will plague everything they touch. If anyone has a way to adjust controller angle I will update my review a bit. I still won't recommend it, but its a big difference between some graphics choices and actual pain during play.
