About Set Sail
Set Sail is a western visual novel set in the modern day where the Golden Age of Pirating never properly ended. The player takes the role of a young pirate who has lived their entire life sheltered on a famous pirate ship known as The Red Plague, captained by The Demonic Pirate Ricardo.
Through a first person perspective, you meet and engage with colorful characters on your pirate ship, the odd members of the Pirate Culture Club, and people you regret interacting with in the first place.
You make the decisions on where to go and who to interact with, these choices impact dialogue, relationships, and future events of the game.
What you download is a stand alone experience, but with more downloads and support a full game could get made.

It's just clicking through badly written dialogue that would never be accepted in print by an actual professional publisher. How did something this badly written end up on Steam? When someone can't get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam Direct under the guise of a game. Not only is this not a game, it's not even a "full" e-book, just a demo chapter, and the developer indicates in the store blurb that he intends to write more of this garbage high school anime club dropout fan-fiction at some point in the future... but, some relief to gamers here, it looks like he didn't follow through with this threat. The book itself, of course, is garbage, a high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about the author and a variety of imaginary girlfriends that he has (you don't know them, they go to a different school, in Canada). It's set in an unimaginative and creatively flawed "what-if" scenario where piracy never stopped, which doesn't make sense because the golden age of piracy ended because …
