This game disappoints me because I saw an FPS game set in Ancient Egypt and was immediately interested. It's a shame Shadow of Egypt is only three levels long, beatable in 15 minutes and is an asset flip like the other games made by this developer. It's a shame I can't recommend this game, because there isn't enough FPS games with Ancient Egyptian settings. I love shooters and I love Ancient Egyptian culture and mythology, so combining the two is an easy way to pique my interest. As for Shadow of Egypt as a game, the mouse controls are broken and it only has three levels before booting you back to the title screen. I finished the whole thing in only 15 minutes. It feels like a half-baked Wolfenstein 3D mod put up for 89 pence. I got it on sale for 44 pence in case anyone wants to know for whatever reason. Shadow of Egypt disappoints me because I saw an FPS game set in Ancient Egypt, and I wish more games in that genre with that setting existed. But alas, I can't recommend a game that's as short and lacking much of anything as this game. There are a ton of games made under this engine released under different developer names that consist of three short levels that kick you back to the title screen. The visuals are really the only good thing about these games. The turning is horrible and enemies run up and instakill you as you try to turn around. I mean it's actually broken, as in the mouse will lock up and you cannot turn while they steal your life. No ending, just kicked back to the title screen.
