Not a bad game as people say it is. It is different compared to the first two titles but hey, I’m a simple guy that enjoys fun and Shadow Warrior 3 is just THAT. The humor is present despite being dumbed down, the gameplay is fun yet challenging, and the title is well optimized. My issue however is the story’s length which involves double-thinking via price tag. I have beaten the first two Shadow Warrior games and I will admit, the third entry is the weakest however, it still remains a fun yet silly game.
This iteration of the Shadow Warrior series is an arena shooter ala Doom. Plays well, guns feel good, movement is clean. The story mode is entertaining enough but very short (5 hours for me on normal).
I honestly can't get behind how much hate this game got. As someone who played the original remake back a few years ago, came back and played it AGAIN before gunning a playthrough of SW2, doing all the quests in that one, and then going to this one.. this one was EASILY the best. The gunplay was tight, movement was fast, and the DOOM: Eternal arena based approach was intense and kept the action at a high the whole game. The ability to rip weapons from enemies was also a neat concept. I even liked the little platforming/wall run/grapple interlude bits. The weapon roster is smaller but I prefer it, each gun felt like it fulfilled a role in combat (I thought SW2's approach had just too much weapon bloat from it being a looter shooter with none of the guns really behaving different from each other unlike in something like the Borderlands franchise). Now it's not a perfect game, but it's Shadow Warrior, it's not trying to be the next DOOM overthrower and I can respect it. It's got the same old cheesy humor as the other games did (saw some other review saying the humor got worse...literally half the jokes in SW2 were fart jokes, and then 80% of those were just milking how much Wang desp…
