Shiba Army

Shiba Army is a low poly endless runner that seems to have been slapped together badly by throwing a bunch of low poly Unity assets in a blender. The mismatched quality of game assets is a clear indicator that's what's going on here. Disregarding the low quality assets (like if you are ripping off someone else's work to make your shovelware, at least rip off some high quality assets???), the game itself is a woefully shallow endless runner clone that makes the Temple Runner mobile app look like a masterpiece (it isn't). The developer tries to meme off the popular Shiba Inu dog breed, the video game equivalent of clickbaiting. There's an option to change the game resolution, but this doesn't work, all the fields in the form are blank, so that's an unacceptable defect. There's a few other graphics tweaks, but given the utterly low quality of the game assets, it's unclear if these settings actually do anything. Like... most of the assets are untextured, so why even bother with a texture resolution setting? The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push…

There are no power ups, there are no variation in sound, music and scenarios. There are interface bugs, ugly fonts, lagging when next scenery is loading, clipping issues, strange physics. There is a game here. A boring one.

For a new game in beta, this is pretty good. The concept it one that is pretty creative IMO, a runner in which you are not restricted to a grid. All around it's currently a great game with a great concept. I'm excited to see what is to come with it.
