Shiba Sweet

This game gets the award for being undeniably cute!! Cute art with attention to detail, cute characters, cute little shop, cute mechanics (you get to pack your desserts into little bento boxes ^_^) but the gameplay loop has me wishing it offered a bit more of a challenge or at least the [i]option[/i] to adjust the difficulty level. You buy supplies, you bake, you open up shop, you sell and you sleep. There are options to decorate your shop and character with a little heartwarming story baked in between. There are lots of things to work towards, so it does have a bit of a grindy feel. You need to buy ingredients daily, you use money to unlock new recipes, buy new equipment and expand your shop. There are calendar events to look out for that boost income and help shape your menu. I have no problem with the content per se but because there is no level of difficulty, after a couple days of doing the same thing to earn enough money to advance, things start to feel a bit stale and monotonous. This game feels and performs like a rudimentary 2008 mobile port or free web browser game. It's janky, shallow and the price point (on sale) of £13.59 is completely unjustifiable. In fact, it's downright cheeky. There are other games for a lower price point which significantly more charm, content, depth, higher graphical quality, and advanced progression. The gameplay loop is brain rot at its finest: click, walk, click, walk, click. I have unlocked several recipes and new appliances yet I feel like I've achieved nothing. Drain circling springs to mind. It does not respect your time. Premise: You are a poorly rendered Shiba Inu, you live a lonely life in a tiny square box (Grandma's bakery), there are very few customisation options. Each day you will cook items one-by-one following the same slightly tedious steps to fill up a shelf. When it is time to sell them, you click to open the window to reveal a very pixelated outdoor snapshot with some poorly rendered animal characters. If they ask for 2 items, you click on a tray with 2 spaces and click 2 items then the package button (likewise if they ask for 1 or 3 items). The product ships. There is no pressure or challenge whatsoever.…

This game is adorable. A cute and cozy cooking game made by a solo developer. Their handcrafted assets really shine through in each step of the game. Unlocks and progression just gave me more to love. Unique animations and designs keep me coming back for more! Any bug reports made to the dev are responded to and resolved quickly. The dev's dedication can be felt throughout the game, and in their responsiveness.

This would be a great game for children. It's super cute, low pressure and easy. I'm an adult, but I'm enjoying myself. I dislike cooking games that have a timer and make you rush and feel under pressure. Running my little cafe in Shiba Sweet is fun because I can go at my own pace. It's fun unlocking new recipes and they are all so adorable! The cafe is small and I do wish it was larger or that we could unlock an expansion to our cooking area but it doesn't appear that's an option. I'd recommend this game to anyone tired of the usual cooking game pressure or if you'd like to play this with your child. It's relaxing and very cute.

This game is a relaxing version of overcooked. I enjoy how I can peacefully bake and the shop part of the game is fun too. I wish tho I could place decorations on tables and that the items had higher point values, I don't enjoy having to spam decorations for the star challenges. I do really enjoy the game and overall.
