Fair warning, my review may be bias as I'm a backer of the game and love anything SEL related. I'm only going to cover the positives about this game since every other review has made it pretty clear what the negatives are. BUT I will say, you should only consider getting this game if you are a Lain fan already. This game is 100% meant for people who already like the series. Go watch Serial Experiments Lain or play the PSX game if you haven't. The gameplay is very confusing, but yes that's a good thing. It wouldn't be Lain if it was straightforward. Just like the PSX game, you're going to spend a lot of time tinkering around with things trying to figure out what does what since there are no directions or tutorials. Even as I'm writing this, there's still a lot of things I don't understand. This game is a lot of things, but it's not uninteresting. It's pretty fun snooping around finding little things here and there. The story is also confusing too, but again, that's okay. Even Konaka intended for the story of SEL/PSX to be very vague and confusing since he wanted the watcher/player to leave with their own take and own personal theories. Just try to immerse yourself and fit the pie…

After seeing all the negative reviews and bad mouth surrounding this game, I decided to check it out myself. The game feels like a study project from a local university: a hollow & bloated engine wrapped in images and sounds, with no premise, no narrative whatsoever. The character designs are nice, but outside of still images there are bland, free-asset locations that will fry your PC before you even "finish" the game. It kinda reminds me a bit of Yume Nikki -DREAM DIARY-, a sequel with the same fate, but it has more substance, gameplay and overall narrative and feel than in //signal. Having been heavily invested in S.E.Lain since 2015 and a huge fan of the PSX game, I've always dreamed of some kind of continuation, whether official or made by relatively small but loyal fanbase of this title, but this isn't the case. Chiaki Konaka & Yoshitoshi ABe's approval is highly questionable, apparently being manipulated by the creators of //signal., but at least the promo art was cool. This should've been released as early access, but not presented as a full game. Present Day, Present Time... I g…

i was so curious because there's been nothing with lain other than a planned event with generative ai and an event made in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vrchat since 1998 and i thought this may be like crazy its just a summary of the events of the ps1 game and the show and nothing more, much less. there's nothing new the few things in the game are just dialogue that already happened in the ps1 game or the show but the environments and models (black bodies with tv heads of the character) are so insanely bad that i can't say i regret playing the game 1/10 my only compliment is that it ended quickly
