About Slime's Journey

Slime's Journey is a retro style mini metroidvania about a very valiant and young Slime who needs to fight against many dangerous creatures to find his parents again.

There were two lovely Slimes who loved each other so much! One day, while taking a walk near to their house on the Ancient Forest, a strange creature appeared... that creature was a very powerful Shaman looking for some ingredients to make a new evil potion, and unfortunately the ingredients were... Slimes!! So the Shaman took those poor Slimes and went to his house in the Poisonous Swamp to prepare that strange potion. But there was one more little slime left behind inside that couple's house in the forest, which maybe is the only hope to save his parents!

Explore different scenarios seeking for the little one's parents and try to rescue them before it's too late! But don't worry, you'll find many useful itens along the way, like magical potions, friendly witches and more!

Very short mini-Metroidvania. Artwork's really cute, the monsters and the slime are adorable, the terrain is varied, and the cosmetic options are pretty great. Metroidvania progression is pretty standard too, various shot upgrades, and your typical jump and swim enhancements. There aren't many, but the entire games takes under 2 hours to 102% so it doesn't need a lot. I like that you have lots of customization options, different accessories you can wear and 3 different color choices at the start. Techwise it ran perfectly on a Linux desktop, and it's light weight enough to run super well on a single battery charge on the SteamDeck (my Deck's off for RMA so I couldn't run it there). The only issue is that the Steam F12 screenshots don't work, which usually is a game engine thing. It's short, cute, and inexpensive, but it is short enough that some might abuse the refund system after playing it.

+0 points a run-of-the-mill general platformer that takes about an hour to beat, more if you are trying to 100% it. +1 points for not being buggy. +2 points for slimes in a positive role. If you've played a few Ratalaika games, then you sort of know what to expect. This gets a thumbs up, from a slime-enjoyer.

102% in 1:11:01 in game time, 4 deaths all for dumb reasons. Soft recommend, simple good fun. Easy game, nothing innovative but it moves well and is cute.

I bought the game at $2. Absolutely worth the price. Very fun to play (barring some flaws in the control), great pixel art aesthetics, good music as well. I love the game enough that I chose to play through the game on hardcore (so dying means I had to start all over), and then speedrun on non-hardcore a bunch. Dev: I wrote a more detailed post with my suggestions on the control mechanics. A simple, cute and fun little game that can be completed in one sitting. It's like a miniature metroidvania type adventure.
