About So, uh... a spaceship crashed in my yard.

A spaceship named Aria crashed into your front yard! Now it's up to you to find the parts she needs to escape Earth.
  • The gameplay is a 'walking simulator' type game with a little bit of light puzzle solving.
  • Takes 20~30 minutes to beat.
  • Meet and talk to NPCs.
  • Find and combine items to get the parts Aria needs to return to space.
  • 100% free.
  • One ending to choose from.

Parental discretion is advised due to some strong language and a weirdly large number of jokes about pants.

History

We originally made this game during a frenzied weekend gamejam in 2014. I rediscovered it on my hard drive in 2018, and released this new edition with achievements, bug fixes, and other improvements. It's a small game, but I hope you have as much fun playing it as we had making it!

So, uh... a spaceship crashed in my yard. is exactly the kind of weird little indie game that you find on Steam and end up enjoying more than expected. The name already tells you what kind of experience it is. It does not take itself seriously and is more focused on being funny and charming than trying to be a huge adventure game. The story is simple. A spaceship called Aria crashes into your yard, and you have to help find the parts needed to repair it and get her back home. The game is mostly about exploring small areas, talking to characters, finding items, and combining things to progress. It is a very basic setup, but it works because the game knows it is meant to be a short, silly experience. The biggest strength is the humour. A lot of small indie games try too hard to be funny, but this one has a more relaxed style. The strange conversations, random jokes, and overall ridiculous situation give it personality. It feels like a small passion project where the developers were just trying to make something entertaining instead of adding unnecessary features. The pixel art style also fits the game well. It is not trying to look impressive, but the simple visuals match the come…

The storyline here is unbeatable, my cat (supposedly a dog), Fido literally carries the whole story. The achievements are pretty easy to 100% but for the Speedrun you absolutely need to hold shift the whole time. I got the achievement by a 1 second difference.

Short free game with humour. Finding the parts for the spaceship is easy enough but when adding the materials into the machines its a bit confusing what to add. If you add the wrong materials you can get them back. The machines buzz at you if you get it wrong. Took me a bit longer because I didnt know what to add and had to look it up. Nice short game and has its humour
