Solderia: Fall of Kings is a free medieval strategy game that mixes city building, resource management and warfare with a persistent world. I start with a small kingdom and work on upgrading buildings, gathering resources, researching new technology and building an army strong enough to expand. I like the basic setup because there is always something that needs improving, whether it is my economy, fortress or military. It has that familiar feeling of slowly turning a small settlement into something much bigger. The city building side is straightforward and gives me a good reason to keep checking back. I need food, wood, stone, iron and gold for different parts of my kingdom, so I have to keep the economy moving while also preparing for war. Training infantry, cavalry, archers and siege units gives me a clear military progression too. I like that the different parts of the kingdom are connected because I cannot just focus on making my army stronger without also keeping the resources coming in.
